Hi guys,

As the title says, I am looking to buy a 33GTR, I was under the impression that the series 3 has different headlights to the 1 and 2... sort of more like the series 2 of the gtst... is this the case? or am I loosing my mind.

Also what are the other differences between the series 1,2 and 3 on the R33 GTR?

Thanks for any help.

Off the top of my head..

S3 has Xeon headlights (some may have S1 headlights as some complaince places didnt replace them)

S3 has rear fog lights

S3 has a red stitched interior

ABS unit is different

Front bar has N1 slots and a different lip spoiler

Do a search im sure there is a lot more then this.

Cheers

Johno

They are the main differences, and also the lower lip.

Heres a few pics of my series 3 that i took when i put it up for sale.

Hopefully this will help you tell the difference between the series 3 and the earlier R33 GTR's ;)

yeah, series 3 have one on the rear drivers side.

Its where the reverse light is on the S1/S2 R33's, its just slightly orange...and bright when you turn it on

To me, its only the projectors that made series 3 standout from the earlier ones but you can always get aftermarket ones or even DIY like one guy who did it on SAU. To an untrained person like myself, its like looking at 34gtr and 34gtr vspec. The only thing you can tell are the diffusers, sticker and vspec fins on the diff.

Are you referring to the Xenon headlights? The genuine ones do cost serious $$$

    • Thanks Mate, I did know you could do that but i know there is a pump out there that you can bolt on and it all lines up. I was told about it and then forgot the model, I figure if i am pulling it apart i will just put a new one on
    • You can also remove the veins from the HICAS portion of your existing pump.
    • Trying to swap the rear subframe on my R34 and can't remove the L-shaped stay brackets between the front subframe mounts and the sill/chassis. I'm in the UK so rust is a problem. I've used loads of WD40 and then Tunap 103 for days beforehand. I backed off the bolts forward a bit, backward a bit repeatedly for ages to try and avoid snapping. They have all moved a few full turns. The one I've spent most time on has come loose and I can turn with fingers, and it will pull down and push up 2-3mm. But it won't come out. I can tighten it back up and loosen it off again repeatedly but it still won't come out. I assumed there's a captive nut inside but if that's broken loose then I can't understand why I can always tighten the bolt back up - I'd expect it to just spin both ways. Any ideas what's happening here? I can't visualise what's inside there to cause this.
