I heard on the news yesterday that this May happen, Now i do not condone drink driving, however the thought that you would not be able to have a drink with your dinner when you go out for a meal or a beer or two at a mates at an afternoon BBQ and not being able to drive home is ludicrous.

Your Thoughts??

same here, dont drink if i am driving but on the odd occasion like out at dinner / bbq i may have a cold brew.. tbh i wouldnt really care as i dont drink too often, if i do drink its usually to excess, therefor would be so drunk i wouldn't even remember i had a car / license.

Sounds a bit too much like revenue raising.

Harsher penalties, sure, OR reduce it to 0.03 or 0.02l.

Complete intolerance is a bit too far. You could have a light beer with dinner and be done. Cough syrup and mouthwash will also get you caught.

I think doing this will work backwards. It'll be unfairly punishing the light drinkers. The heavy drinkers would have been done anyhow, just need more coppers doing RBTs. I've been driving for 9 years now and only had a single RBT.

Watch for the increase in alcohol sales and extra busy taxi drivers if/when that law comes in too.

But hey, safety isn't always the factor they're interested in. Its politics, they want to be out there and in the news. Also the government will do whatever they reckon will get them the more cash. Heard much about those studies proving that red-light cameras increase the number of accidents at intersections in the debates?

Yes I totally agree that this is just a money making scheme for the government. I think its a f#%king stupid idea and the person who thought of this law is a fool!! I myself am a responsible light drinker who enjoys a drink or two on a friday afternoon with the mates at work. It's more of a relaxation thing for myself as it helps me to unwind after a hectic week at work. I'm all for lowering the limit to .02 but .00 is just a joke!

I think its revenue raising as it is, if they genuinly didnt want people to drink and drive there would be 0 tolerance.

At the moment there is a margin of going over the limit but if the limit was 0 I think there would be less cases of drink driving as you know if you get pulled up and youve got grog in you your farked.

that sucks in the ass... the amount of times i've alredly almost lost my licence the next mornen after drinking

the ones that get caught over the limiter at around 3-5 times over rely ruin it for everyone else that has 1 or 2

fingers crossed!

Seriously such a wet blanket, just because you don't like to have a drink with your meal doesn't mean other people don't to. Its not all about getting smashed, I don't want to loose my license because i had a beer.

Seriously you should worry more about your vagina then this.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
