Yeah you're right, all my bolt ons will have them shaking, China 'cooler, gtr injectors, and an FC..... bet they're shittin now! :)

I just pooped my pants... because you're car lasts more than one lap :D

good to see prices have come down!

but yeah, considering therers that European car club event for 4 hours @ night for 345 bucks.....superlap over two days for clubsprint does seem a bargain!!!

I'll hopefully be an official in pit lane :P (cough jess pitlane plz cough cough)

We need to have something to say we are all from here and meet up and have beers, like an SAU superlap shirt or singlet made up!

the new prices arnt really cheaper! that entry dosnt include any pit crew passes so $675 + 3 crew a $100 for the weekend = $975

all they did was make it look better the initial cost i like the last cost $88o and 3 pit crew passes for the weekend!

Again, it comes down to the costs of hosting this event, several hundred thousands of dollars is my guess, and somehow these costs need to be recouped.

I see no problem with crew being charged an entry fee, after all they get complete access and are of course spectators also.

Most major events I go to the crew registration attracts some form of monetary charge.

all im saying is if ppl realize they are now going to be paying more than if they kept there mounts shut and paid the $880 first up.

fair enough if you have no friends and your going by yourself it will work out cheaper for you.

well personally i thought the original pricing was spot on considering the type of event and what's included (entry, crew passes etc). but clearly lots of folk complained and they got what they asked for!

Exactly!

too true!

Hey BB would a fairly powerful (600hp or so), well sorted 32/33/34 GTR with a good driver stand a chance in clubsprint? No I'm not thinking of entering, I said GOOD driver lol...

just curious if anyone will be able to give the 35's a scare... my hunch is no but never hurts to bring up controversial topics hehehe

the biggest factor will be tyres i reckon

No chance, unless someone like Bozman was driving the 32/33/34.

The R35's will dominate!!!! :D

it would be pretty tough. the problem is tyres. (like LSX said). a 32/33/34 with 600hp really needs semis to get it down and run some good times. they are just too heavy and too powerful for high performance road tyres. The R35 has a bit of advantage as it has 500hp from the factory and it's factory tyres are chosen around that power figure. the 32/33/34 came with 280hp....

I think the key in clubsprint (apart from a nice R35) will be something fairly light, with decent but fairly humble power output (compared to the pro class guys) and getting the most out of it's chassis to work with whatever road tyres it's stuck on. look at cars like the S2000 that did well before. fairly light car, decent power, good chassis. GTRs on road tyres just do not have the corner speed to get the times down and no amount of power will help them. Any GTR with 600hp should just go in pro class where they can use tyres that suit. :)

for clubsprint I reckon something like a well prepped S14 or S15 with around 300rwkw, very light body and lots of time spent setting up the suspension with the road tyres would be a good contender.

good stuff mate. they should just about re-name 'clubsprint class' to the 'R35 Cup'.... lol.

good thing there's classes for RWD and stuff as well!

realisticly I dont think any 2wd vehicle has a chance against a good AWD vehicle in Clubsprint. Anytime where cars are traction/grip limited (eg in the wet, or when forced to run street tyres) AWD is a massive advantage. If you want to challenge the R35 in clubsprint, then a modified EVO is the only way to go IMO

    • Yes to both! Yes to standard ECU and tune, but exhaust is aftermarket. Unsure on brand. Actually have it sitting in at my desk haha! I have to set it up on my laptop but this is a great next step, will do. So I generally try to shift before 4.5K RPM most times. I largely don't do a lot of high-rev driving, but I will take it up to red 1-2x a week max, as I know the occasional "Italian tune-up" is good for these cars.  Oh wow, is this way better than what I'm getting. Does this mean there's a good chance I have an issue?   Thanks for all the info so far guys.
    • Old Son, did you re-use the Holden ABS in the new shell or try a different module?
    • Yeah, nah. I had the actuator rod off it today. The arm will not move at all. Neither out, nor in. Yeah, you'd think so, but I've been thinking about that. Even when the actuator rod fell all the way off at the beginning of this saga, it would build more boost and faster in lower gears than it would in higher gears, and you'd think that that was the opposite of what should happen. But I strongly suspect that there is a thing with the gearing getting the revs to rise faster, that there must be some transient effect with the gas flow rate rising quickly, that you don't get with the more steady state case of the higher gears. Keep in mind - the gate is not shut in either of my weirdnesses. So things are not "normal". We normally think about a turbo spooling up (below the wastegate target) with the gate shut. I have all sorts of mental models running now where the gate is a little bit open, and having it stuck open allowing gas out while it should be going through the turbine has all sorts of weird effects (in these mental models). I'm thinking in the higher gears, the ex mani pressure builds to the point where enough gases spill out the wastegate to just prevent the pressure rising much more at all, or just creeping up, all the whole the revs are increasing and getting closer to the point where a gear shift becomes necessary.
    • Is it possibly wastegate actuator itself is sticking, or even the rod to flapper? Otherwise I reckon things are getting a bit rusty/worn   Also odd it won't boost in 3rd to 5th, but will in 1st, I'd expect the other way around with it slightly open as there's more time on your way to redline for it to spin up
    • Does anyone know ow what these two plugs are for and if they should be unplugged? Just put the dash back together and can't remember if these were plugged in before or unplugged! (Blue and white plugs) 🤦🏽‍♂️
