yeah it looks great mate. I hope it's going really well. unfortunately they will definitely think we are hill billys anyway, I mean compare eastern creek to fuji speedway.... :P our tracks look like they were built on farm land next to garbage tips... wait a minute, they were.....

We got one of those tracks in Perth. Think it's called Barbagallo! :P

Is it the same car? The colour makes me want to ask if it is in any part Geoff Fears old GTR (What happened to that anyway?)

Ferds owns that car now, and AFAIK the IPRA car is still for sale.

Dave the car looks great and I suspect more has been developed there than just a paint job. You guys have been leaders in racing skylines in Australia for years including state and national titles where everyone said it could not be done.....I'd love to see you make a big impact on this event too.

All the best, my $2 are on you guys :P

I can see a good reason to think any number of the local cars will be quick. Dont know anything really about the OS cars to have a feel. They all look the part and no doubt if they are making the effort to cross the drink you would think that their preparation to the event is very thorough.

What sort of track temps to the guys as Tsukuba usually see. I know its cold late in the year, but is it cold all year round? Curious to see how their cars go if its a hot day with regards to how they work their tyres over a longer lap with longer radius corners. I suppose the single lap format may mean that higher temps will not really play havoc like if you went to Japan and simply could not get tyre temp in the 5 deg C?!?!?!?!?!!?

It will be an interesting event... I just hope that Russ in his RB20 powered sled can get the lil 32 into the 1:48s ;)

YAY Superlap Week is finally here!!!

Sierra Sierra Evo is simply gorgeous with all its carbon..I dont think you can fit any more carbon on it lol Stunningly presented car upclose!

Tomei/Cusco WRX is super low and like nothing I have seen before. Fascinating to see how the other worlds set up there cars!

Seriously Cool.........Cant wait to hear them on the track!!

Bring on FRIDAY!!! Whoop Whoop!!!

yes mate, any recorded time over your sessions can win it,

being ready at the right time to take full advantage of weather is a super important part of strategy then... this will be exciting to see unfold!

Tomei/Cusco WRX is super low and like nothing I have seen before. Fascinating to see how the other worlds set up there cars!

the japs..... they know!!

super low is super good... anything more than 2" off the ground is just plain unacceptable.

not sure how it will handle the goat track though.. but hey... in 3 days... we shall find out.

wooooohooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does anyone know how many tickets have been sold???

also... is there anything i should make sure i have recieved at the gate as a spectator??? last year the mrs and i got whisked away because we didnt recieve wrist bands when we entered... thanks to the SAU gate officials 2009.

Provided the roll center has been fixed.

so fix the roll center...

looking at the pics of the tomei wrx front and rear suspension, and watching the clips of it around the track... id say they have the roll centre sorted...

Apparantly someone used bad language at a petrol station and its been noted as a possible terrorist attack and travel advices now say to restrict all non essential travel to Australia :ninja: So the Yanks are staying home :(

wtf!! i dont keep up with current events... sooo... are you for real??

wouldnt their cars have been on the slow boat like 6 weeks ago??

    • They're all horrible. X-Trails have had a nasty sounding 4cyl since forever, no matter what engine family it came from. The CVTs only made that worse. Then the whole Renault thing only made every Nissan that was contaminated by them even worse again. The only fun I've had in a X-Trail was having it blown sideways across a frozen Minnesota highway at 90 mph trying to make it to the airport to get out of the frozen hellhole of Hoth. Nearly died. Was great fun.
    • Alrighty, I'll have to grab a couple pics and type out something soon in another post. I haven't driven a modern X no, this would be the first one really. Yeah the rental boxes are always cheap as chips right? So I'd doubt that anyone was handing out GTs to go and abuse. But I s'pose I could be wrong for sure. New cars these days though? Pretty unimpressed with what I see now; 20 years and all that, like you said. It just kind of worked out to have these two cars now. I'm pretty pleased with that, don't need much else. I'm sure you lads are right about the temps and for sure, you wouldn't have much time to drive 'em down there if you all were like me. I do hate sweating all over the seats though😆
    • Let large companies that are making money off selling kits do the preliminary engineering for you. If they all do -10, then that is all you'll ever need.
    • Hopefully it ends up being something manageable, like a hone, rather than a full bore—it would be a huge relief if it’s not as bad as it looks. Hang in there; these setbacks are annoying, but it sounds like you’re handling it as smartly as possible.
    • At the end of the day, it’s all about understanding the odds and being comfortable with the potential cost, whether it’s horsepower on a build or chips on a roulette table. And I have to say, the Laine example made me laugh—some people really do embrace that carefree, “roll and see” attitude!
