Ok, i saw my car today and i'm really not happy jan!

first problem- the car won't turn off! i have no idea what they did to it but the turbo timer doesn't work and the only way to turn the car off is by stalling it. wtf is up with that? can anyone enlighten me as to why please??? :?: they have no idea how this happened but they will fix it.

second-the rim that got machined and looked like brand new has scratches on it. some lunatic apparently doesn't know how to put a tyre on. i'm gonna make them send it back to get fixed.

third-the bonnet doesn't line up. one side is lower than the quarter while the other is higher. he tried to tell me that it wasn't finished and this was the reason why it doesn't match. as if you'd leave it uneven and then risk scratches by lining it up at the end. idiot thinks i'm an idiot

fourth-battery is drained. i specifically told him to start my car every week at least once as the oil in her is worth over sixty bucks and i don't want my battery drained. derrr

fifth-they have to take it back to their shop as some suspension component doesn't match so they need to fix it and then send it back to Heasmans again. more time wasted.

on a good note....

...there aint one

thanks for listening to my whinge. i feel better now :)

they sound like f**kers man...[/quote:96aba8ed53]

yes and no. they are quiet good at what they do. it just happens so that in my case that is 'screwing me'

i wouldn't say don't take your car there but i wouldn't recomend them either. if i was a paying customer it would have been a different story. oh well..

...i feel a bit like :?

he has no Idea how to get business the one you want are the young guys as they have all the accidents. sux eh.

sorry to hear it dude my car is in the hospital as well and guess what I've been driving it for 5 weeks with the motor hassles it was fine but dies 300 meters from the workshop go figure eh..

then we rent a car just an oldish ford :)

the best thing we ever did cause the missus wants a skyline to drive the brakes on the forrd are as soggy as shit and the suspension is like marshmelows rofl. so the R33 looks all go I said to her are you sure you don't want a ford or a 4wd she said no thanks :)

any way got my apex springs to day now to get the ok for the bilstiens and exhaust and my car will be done.

cheers

meggala

george send the car back to be fixed properly if your not driving. I hate shoddy late workmanship.

Okay ,,,okay lets settle down for a sec....Onarun please E-mail me who is repairing it....If the cars going back to Heasman's (they are Bilstien Specialists) that could be one of my customers. I might be able to help.

1st sounds like they have been under the dash and connected the timer wrong....just a thought.

2nd,,,,yep thats normal,,,,idiots can't put tyres on rims these days without scratching them,,,,Don't Take the Car TILL thats fixed.

3rd,,, easy fix,,,all they will do is grab one side of the bonnet while someone holds the other side and twist it from the front....sound Yuk but thats the easy fix. Bet you any money thats what they will do and you won't know. It just the norm in Beating. Just make sure it lines up before you take the car. Check out the height of the front rubber adjusters. They should be basically the same height. Question them if one a lot higher than the other.

4th,,,,No bloody Panel shop gives two f**ks about your battery. They only start your car when they want to move it and thats it.

5th I'm not liking this one,,,why don't the parts match,,,I would be asking for wheel alignment printouts and then get a second opinion.

Neil.

at least something good came out of it. you have converted a less fortunate driver to the true path, the path of the skyline

Hey guys,

I'm also sick of mechanics and others who dont give a s**t about us . There will be bad Karma coming back 2 those who took my car around the block for "testing" and later discovering scratches on my front bar and rubber in the rear arches.

Remember guys, always double check your car. I for 1 will be sitting in the car the next time i take my car 2 the mechanincs. I'll be doing most of the work with myself and a few mates where possible from now on.

Trust no one

That really sux George :x

I have experienced a bit of crap too

I thought it only happened to girls!! (because they think they can bullshit us into anything). For example, the only thing wrong with my car when i had it imported was that the muffler was stuffed...it rattled and made a really bad noise, so i when I got the cam belt replaced i asked the workshop to check it out. They replaced a bracket  which did f**k all and charged me for it.

Hehehe next day I'm back....

made them look at it again...they spent over 2 hours taking the muffler off, checking it, driving the car with it off, driving with it on, finally did the job I asked them to do in the first place. "um yeah the muffler is stuffed, take it to an exhaust place who can replace it"....

got my money back on the "bracket" and walked out without paying a cent for the extra 2 hours labour they spent finding the problem.

Just persist until you're happy...keep going back till they have done everything you paid them to do.

I can't express in words how good they are, they have done everything to my 'line and I wont take it elsewhere.

the ONLY problem is that occasionally they can take longer than expected, because they are always very busy.

Everything eh ? What like Christian ? Just to give me some idea of what I can take my car there for, as most of the time I will be able to get the stuff but not install it (such as Power FC, brake pads and rotors, tyres, etc). Are they happy to install shit you don't get through them for instance a Power FC ?

How much does a dyno tune cost ?

yeah man, they will do anything mechanical.

So far they have..

fitted my FMIC and piping.

fitted my BOV

turned my car for 12psi, then back to 9psi when i kept hitting fuel cut.

fitted my exhaust (full exhaust from the turbo)

fitted my oil catch can

done all my servicing and safety checks (when i drove to QLD).

They will be (in the next 2 weeks)..

Fitting and Tuning S-AFC

fitting Fuel cut defender

tuning for 12psi again

Mark is always there to answer questions too, so if you need to know something, like whether its best to get a new turbo, or high-flow, he'll give you the pros and cons of each.

I can't tell you how much they rock.

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
