hey guys,

i bought my gtr about 3 weeks ago and when i bought the car i was told it was running

n1 turbos, but the owner had no prove of then so i just assumed they were standard

(besides being quite laggy) until i put it on the dyno and realised it is very laggy,

does anyone else have this much lag on standard turbos???

or can any help comfirm there n1 turbos???

im new to gtrs but have spent alot of time around turbo cars

thanks

it running factory boost which is 7.5pd or very close to that, it basicly stock beside a full exhuast

im more interested why it is so laggy???

i would love to see another r32 gtr with n1 s dyno chart just to see when it comes on?? anyone got one??

i have searched it but with no the results im after

yeah that ramp rate is about right for r32 n1 turbos, I make full boost around 4500. You are not running enough boost though only 7psi. even standard is 12psi and the turbs are fine up to say 20psi.

and what is with hp? haven't queensland gone metric yet? I thought all of australia except WA had moved off the imperial system

thanks thats the info i wanted to hear

what sort of power should i see with 16-18pd??

so no chance of being standards ?

im just scared of running 16-18 and the rear turbo wheels letting go

not sure why its not metric

thanks russell

I have the R32 Nismo trbos, and this curve looks about like my 2nd gear pull. I have seen .6 bar as low as 3800rpm in 4th gear and 5th gear. Turn up the boost and get them in their effienency range, around one bar. Be careful though, stock injectors cant support 1bar from these turbos, neither the stock MAFs as well.

I wouldn't know if that was right or wrong. It has a pfc, super drager, 700 and sumthing injectors, apexi intake and I think some other bits and pieces. It may have been awkw? The guy that sold it to me took it to the dyno (Todd at top of page) so I dont know the details.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
