Hey guys,

After allot of discussion with my boss(sponsor) he has allowed me to organise a group type buy for our Selbys swaybars.

Usually when he allows a group buy its for the same type swaybar for the same car but i have made him realise that would not work really well with drifters as there are so many makes and so many cars modified with different engines ,diffs and front ends into different cars etc.

I am glad to say i can offer any swaybars at a good discount on our normal price at what most of our trade customers buy them for(they get discount do to the volume they order each month).

Selbys are in the old whiteline premises at minto and most of the staff including the benders are all the same staff for the past many years when it was whiteline and these swaybars are all made with quality Australain bought steel and made in Australia.

Selbys is also the only swaybar manufacturer that i know of in Australia that will do one off custom swaybars to suite your needs example: we do a swaybar on our listed items for rb engines in an s13 that was originally a ca18 as it was such a popular swaybar we made it a part number and is now cheaper than a special make custm bar.

:we can also do bigger diameter swaybars than our listed swaybars as a custom bar but it costs a little more

:we can do a modified swaybar to suite say a sr20det into a corolla with a s13 front as long as we have a dummy sample or detailed drawing of what you want.

:it could be that you just want an extended dip to clear an aftermarket sump

basicly we can make you what ever you need within reason but we have to have accurate details as the swaybar will be non - returnable if we have nmade it to your specs you have given and it doesnt fit as we cant sell it to anyone else.

The swaybars are all powdercoated in charcoal metallic pearl so they are not a bright colour that stands out and will look good with any other colour and not clash,

All the swaybars come with some type of kit to mount them included in the price and some swaybars you may only need the main mounting bushes but retain your factory links while others ,especially adjustables come with all brackets bolts and different style links etc to make the swaybar a straight fit and adjust as necissary.

I told the boss that i have had intrest and pm's about swaybars since i have had the signage on the car and that i think i could easily get a group buy of at least 20 swaybars to get the discount.(which is 10 front and rears usually).

well guys i am going to run this for the next 28 days so let me know your intrests in it and get yourselves some selbys swaybars.

here is the link to the website which has all the listed swaybars we have to offer www.selbys.com.au

that will let you see the colours of the swaybars and the range we have.Prices on the website are not including gst as we sell overseas so dont go off them prices i will have to give you the discounted price just let me know what swaybars you are after.

I've priced up the same swaybars that I would want for my car from a local whiteline supplier, and compared against these prices and there's only about a $30 overall difference if I were to purchase both front and rear. I imagine that saving would get quickly eaten up in p&h from Sydney to Adelaide by going for a Selby bar.

So - from what I understand, Selby swaybars used part of Whiteline, but has in more recent times split off under Bob Tait (who is/was? a Whiteline Directors/principal). Additionally, Selby use the old Whiteline manufacturing facilities. So - that begs the question - what's the difference between purchasing from Whiteline and Selby - other than the color - is the product / quality / performance any different/better? The model codes for the associated Whiteline vs Selby swaybars are pretty much identical, and so is the website itself - which also begs questions.

I guess I'm just trying to figure out if you (anyone?) can give me a good reason why I would go Selby vs Whiteline?

Aussie made with Aussie steel.

So whiteline - since selling their Selby-swaybar arm - are no longer manufacturing their swaybars in Australia using Australian steel? That's the sort of response I'm looking for. I've googled and googled and all I can find is websites saying they're the exact same product (I'm guessing because historically they were). Anyone else?

A stock R32 GTR rear swaybar is 25mm thick (hollow) as far as I understand, how much stiffer in percent is the selby 24mm rear adjustable swaybar (SNR26CA) on its hardest setting?

Yes you are right Bob Taite is the new owner and we are in the old whitline premises with the same staff making them in Australia.

Aussie made with Aussie steel.

i saw a post by someone on here saying Whiteline outsource their manufacturing to Korea now, correct me if im wrong.

All the popular whiteline nissan bars are made by selbys, isnt that right Wayne?

not really anymore they have korea making most of the bars now we do not make hardly anything for them anymore mainly in the past couple of months it has all slowed down we only really do our bars now...

Selbys do all the popular make nissan swaybars with our steel and our staff now and they come in charcoal pearl metallic .

we also the only swaybar company that i know of that does any custom make swaybars like for engine conversions to suite sump clearances etc or diff changes in rear sway bars or even if you just want one of our allready listed items made in a larger or smaller diameter than we have in our catalogue...

we have lately done a swaybar fro a 2jz in a 180sx ,a sr20det in an ae86,a ca18 in a ae86 ,and we now have as a listed part number a swaybar for a rb engine from a ca18det s13 with the larger dip for the rb sump..

we also have made skyline front bars custom made for larger capacity sumps ...

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
