quick tune is free to download.

There is nothing stopping you using a seperate MAP sensor as an AUX input should you want more than 22psi

O ok I thought such a nifty program would cost money :D Yeh someone told me I can just wire in another MAP sensor through the old AFM wiring. Have you personally had any dealing with a LINK G4 or ViPEC V44 plug in ecu? Would be interesting to see if the software for both works on either ecu. Yeh anyone who wants to suggest a good wideband please do :)

Also just to keep this thread usefull for others. Anyone else who has been tuned post up your ecu and the cost and time taken :D Cheers

Im a bit lost on this. So the V88 comes with built in knock control? Can the stock knock sensors be wired straight to the ecu or would I need to get an amp for it? Also is the inbuilt MAP for the V88, is it any better than the V44 or is it all 2.5 bar absolute?

you can order the plug in with a 5bar map sensor fitted as an option. We run one of these in our circuit gtr and runs the car extremely well...ultra smooth like factory and makes over 450KW at the tyres.

V88 runs a map sensor separate from the ecu.

we use the techedge wideband...local product and is what is fitted as standard equipment on Mainline dyno's

Ah ok. Yeh I emailed Ray but I haven't got an email back about pricing for anything like that. Like extra sensors and so on. Everyone is saying Quicktune is free but I can't find it on the internet. I know Im probably looking in the wrong spot or am just too stupid to find it so could someone help me out with a hyperlink. I will just like to have a browse and have a look around with the options etc. Yeh I was looking over the techedge wideband as it has been suggested a couple of times :D Do you think the basic techedge wideband kit will be enough? I think it is accurate to +-0.1 between 11 and 17. Cheers for the PM. I cant call now or anything as Im at work and I dont wanna get it trouble for not doing anything hahaha........not that im browsing sau........

ANOTHER question coz im full of so many. The Link G4 plug in I have been told has 10 injector drivers and 4 ignition. So it fires injectors fine but runs wasted spark. Does the V44 plug in do 6 injection and 6 ignition? Everyone is telling me they are the same dam ecu so I just want to clear that little query up.

Anyway I better get back to faradays electrolysis eqaution to see how efficient the cells are running :S

Cheers

Lukas

its 8 injector drivers and 4 ignition drivers. you use 6 of the injector drivers to drive the injectors the other two can be programed to do other things, in mine one does the thermo fan and i think the other does the idle solenoid and 3 ignition drivers to run the wasted spark ignition.

You open quicktune from within the vipec software http://www.vi-pec.com/page_files/software.htm

i have this hooked into my car running wideband closed loop http://wbo2.com/2j/default.htm and it was also used by the tuner with quicktune.

I'm guessing you have the V44 plugin?

ahhhhhh ok I thought quicktune was its own program or something. Makes a little more sense that it is opened up in the other software. What do you think of the wasted spark set up? Do you have any issues with it at all?

yes i have the V44 plugin.

i haven't had any issues with the wasted spark setup, guilt-toy has more power than me and he hasn't had any issues that im aware of either (same ecu)

Ah ok. Well I just spoke to the guy who I hope will give me mod plates and Im needing to pass emissions. Dont think I will go too well with the microtech on this set up with no cat or carbon canister :| So I think I will more than likely be upgrading all that stuff soon :P As I mentioned earlier I have been offered the LINK G4 plug in for a pretty good price. Is there any other reason other than support from Ray and the brand name that I should get a V44?. As for knock amps is there anything that you would suggest?

vipec make a knock amp that you can buy

Alright. But again I think I am retarded as I cant find it on their website.

Anyone want to message me with the price for a V44 with upgraded map sensor, knock amp and inlet air temp sensor? I can get a link g4 plug in for $1200. But I will need to get an inlet air temp sensor, a better map sensor and still get the knock amp. Someone please hit me with some current values on the dam Vipec. Makes me cranky that I can never see a price for it. Everywhere I look it just says "POA". I understand prices fluctuate but PLEASE somebody give me a price.

I guess I just want to be able to hop online. Fill up the cart with all the goodies and have the price right in front of my face :D and then have someone else foot the bill

call up the dealers listed on the vipec site?

Nope. I dont want to sound like Im making excuses either but I dont really have much time in my day when its mon-fri. You know any of them which are open on weekends?

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
