52mm should be fine as i've installed it on my cef aswell, however i've had to change to thermos and clearance is pretty tight as there was no way the clutch fan would sit there. Even with the 42mm i wasnt comfy with how close it sat, and in the end the clutch fan put a hole in the rad and cooked my motor at wakefield (blades must've gone wonky at high rpm or something). So you've been warned :worship:

also i found that with the radiators i bought, the top tank diameter was identical regardless, so before buying get them to send dimensions of the rad to you and see if it suits.

Find yourself a 40mm radiator, with that size you can retain the factory fan and shrouding and not have any rubbing or clearance issues. I think I used a cheap JustJap item and with a header/breather tank setup and I never see temps over 95 degrees on the track and 80 on the street...

does anyone know of a company that makes rb radiators that will take measurement(Height x Length) your provide and make one with their next batch? i'm mainly after something shorter

thing is i'm not after a special custom one as i wont like the cost's involved.

i was more thinking for a company that isn't importing radiators i can get them to chop the height in the core for a rb specific rad before they weld the end tanks on within their batch made sets.

i'll give them a call and get a quote on a custom one and for a cut/shut of an alloy rb rad

    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater

    • Going by the intake & injectors I'd be guessing it's a DE, check the head casting number, should be 5L8 on a DET, 5L7 I think is the DE number.
