my personal oppinion. mitsubishi cars can never be like nissan for street and circuit racing purpose. but the evo 7 would be the same as a evo 8 just a few updated body parts and bolt on things.

the GTR series looks better then evo 8. im saying R32 GTR looks better thena evo 8 . and they are also faster. i saw one doing 1.08 around wakefield with a normal driver.

are you implying that nissan have the best street and circuit car in the world?

if thats the case, why is the JUN Hyper Lemon EVO 5 the quickest around Tsukaba circuit in Japan where all the manufacturers bench mark their cars?

but the evo 7 would be the same as a evo 8 just a few updated body parts and bolt on things.

please elaborate....do you have facts that they are practically the same?

yes, thankyou for your opinion.

.

as above.

stock r32 gtr? *STOCK* r32 gtr? is that so? official time or off your watch? who was the driver? was it on slicks? semi slicks? road tyres?

i thought the mines r34 is the fastest around tskuba ? . hmm i still say evo 5 is the best evo out :P . yes the GTR R32 just had filters and 15psi

what does a gtr run stock boost? about 7-8psi? so your talking about a gtr with almost double the boost vs a STOCK Evo8 still?

according to JUN website..."...Lap time was 0'55''976..."

besides that car :P.

the EVo 7 from HkS and kensai is extremely fast. the mines car does 56 around tsukuba. but im not sure about JUN evo 5.  the times are way off on that grid

That list is not... "correct"...

This car is KING:

Sick...

yup. i totally agree. they will be a cult car aimed at the pure enthusiast wanting more or something different to an my03 sti.

didnt the evo6.5 retail in australia for like 80-85K?

from what they wrote in the latest Motor (?? i think it was Motor) - they overpriced them, and had to drop the price to sell the last of them...that's why they are pricing these ones to be competitive with the STI's (apparently!)

It makes sense that Mistu will sell the EVO8 for the same price as an STI. The 6.5 wasn't exactly selling like hot cakes and took Mitsu a while to get rid of them. I'm sure anyone wouldn't want to repeat the mistake Nissan made with the GTR.

I think people really underestimate the EVO8. About 80% of max torque occurs at 2500rpm! No way the RB26 does this stock. Not to mention the 380?mm disc brakes. That's massive for a car that light. The R34 GTR is heavier and has 355mm discs (I think? No bigger though). In theory, the EVO should out brake the R34.

I know we all love our lines' but when the head starts thinking, you can't beat the EVO8.

nope they had to give the suckers away after they priced them around there

they are a quick car but shit there ugly

but if they do sell them for 55k i dont think you will c anymore sti's selling

I thought the reason they didn't sell was because they released the EVO 6 here the same month the EVO7 was released in Japan. I know I certainly wouldn't be buying an old model when they've just released a new one. My opinion - they had excess stock and as Mitsu Aus had been asking for the Evo for quite some time, they thought it would be a good dumping ground for the old models.

i think its all very speculative, but you have a very valid point.

in either case, if they sold at 55k to rival the sti then thats a great benefit for everyone as i still think an enthusiast would pay over and above that for an evo8.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
