Please God... Please....

Oh, and SCHUMI 4th!!!!! YEEEWWWW!!!!

Vettel is a n00b, I'm still mortified!! Rookie f*cking error!!!!!!!

excellent

for some reason i thought of sh@un as the passed they line and how complete he must feel... how gay. got some great pics of the podium and the top three spraying each other. almost makes it worth coming to this god forsaken place.

anyway, thanks vettel for makıg thıs GP worth going to... lick a big cock team fuzz, nowhere to be seen

off to contiki!!

RBR coming out and supporting Vettel and blaming Webber for the incident. Marko and Horner saying that he forced Vettel onto the dirty side and didnt give Vettel any room.

Looks like RBR are annoyed with Webber! :) Vettel does appear to be their golden boy after all :P Stories on the BBC also coming out confirming that Vettel was told to turn up his engine whilst Webber was being told to turn down the engine and save fuel. Hmmm. sounds a bit like the McLaren, save engine and tyres to Button to not have a go at Hamilton, only the opposite for Webber :D

Careful RBR, i rate you guys because you are not pricks like McLaren and Ferrari with team orders, dont do to Webber what McLaren did to DC , Fezz to Rubens etc

wtf?

webber fault my ass... Looks like RBR has picked there number 1 driver and want him to win the championship, i guess from their POV Webber is nearly at the end of his game while Vettel has just started still what complete bs!

also epic fail by ferrari come on boys lift your game!

from vettel

"Obviously, I think if you look at the pictures it was clear I had the inside," said Vettel. "I went on the inside, I was ahead and just going down to focus on the braking point and honestly, you can see we touched and he touched my right rear wheel and I went off."

Asked if the incident was a result of pressure between the pair, he said: "There is no fight. This is something that happens. We do not need it but there is nothing we can do now. Obviously I am not very happy, I was inside focusing on the braking point, we touched and that was it.

"I was a bit quicker than Mark, I was getting closer and I knew I could maybe get him on the back straight. It was close, I passed him on the left and that was the story."

and i spared a thought for you when it looked like you'd have to endure Mark winning all three of your races while you were away :)- bless you Vettel. how different things might have been if, oh i dunno- you weren't such a little choad

RBR Helmut Marko

Q: Is it true that the team gave instructions to Mark Webber’s race engineer to let Sebastian Vettel pass because otherwise Lewis (Hamilton)would be able to overtake?

HM: That is not correct, because that would mean a team order. We informed Mark about the situation and it is for the driver to decide. The fact is that if Sebastian hadn’t passed he would have been overtaken by Hamilton.

WTF. Did he really say that?? Does he really believe either driver should concede a position when they are on equal points?

So "Webber's Luck" was never very far away after all. Onya Horner and Marko for backing him up, not. First you say neither driver was more responsible than the other then you completely contradict yourselves by placing the blame squarely on Webber.

I wonder how long it'll take for the wounds in Mark's back to heal?

I used to rate Vettel but now can see he's got a looong way to go. Istanbul was a shining example of his lack of patience and maturity, and the complete absence of respect he has for his team mate, during the incident itself and during the aftermath.

Meanwhile I cannot believe how composed Webber was during the press conference interview. Can you imagine if it was JP Montoya in his place... :)

I watched this last night.....

I was trying to Text Mark to ask WTF I had just seen?

Vettal you are a (rookie) pre-madonna, get a grip of yourself,

Not even Schumi or Alfalfa would do something at those speeds on a competitor let alone a team mate.

If you had so much top end pace, why not pass on the start/finish front stright?

Absolutely pathetic.... and the gestures he made both in the car to Mark and whilst he walked away was fitting of his age and his mindset. TOOL

I did have a laugh at Mark and Louise discussing the event whilst JB was taking questions.

Capt Chin,

You have gone up in my eyes,

Although I wanted you to shoot from the hip and just unleash a complete f**kWIT firemission on Vettal,

I take my hat off to you for being somewhat diplomatic.

Louise,

Ditch the Fag-Stones in your ears,

Your name ain't Usher!

So basically, Webber shoudl have laid down and then himself be open to attack from Hamilton? Webber had kept Hamo at bay for the whole first stint. They were all very close and without the brain fart they would have finished in the same order they were racing. Even with the stright line advantage, McLaren did not have the car advatnage.

And BS to the fuel claims, do they think we tuned out after the crash! Webber was as quick, generally a few thenths quicker then the McLarens with new tyres on and with 10seconds to Schuey. If fuel was a concern he wouldnt have banged in fastest laps and put 3 secons on Schuey

Also, yeh! Did Vettel do a Hamilton in quali! ?? Webber was meant to get the second run but Vettel didnt go whem required? Webber said he may have gone early but ti think that was Webz letting the team off the hook. No way he would have left earlu surendering the advantage when it was his turn to enjoy it. Vettel just parked it and helped himself to track position!

Oh, and I am with Whitmarsh. Vettel refuses to accept any blame and is getting hugs in the pit lane. Interview with Horner confirms that Vettel did not apologise, so what the hell are they all doign throwing arms around him in pit lane.

RBR, your lips are flapping and saying one thing...but your actions are saying another. Interesting times ahead, and I suspect RBR will suck at Canada

Frame by frame.

Horner is saying that Webber was already in fuel save mode, and Vettel would have been in the same boat on the next lap, so he only had that chance to pass.

Webber could have backed off and let him by, but I can't imagine any driver, now or in the past, who would do that, team mate or not.

The fact is that Vettel veered into Webber. Had Webber slowed down and allowed Vettel past, he would not have had enough speed coming into the corner, and Lewis would have ripped past him.

Hopefully, Webber will just put in some awesome performances in the next month and win a couple more races. Seb looked rattled all week. Blaming a cracked chassis, a bad brake, whatever... Seems he's caught all of Marks bad luck. A couple of years ago it would have been Webber parking it and every other bugger driving off into the sunset.

Consider this one Karma for Japan 07

Vettel is a spoilt little brat and chucks a tantrum when he doesn't get his way. I really dislike how Vettel carries on and blames others for his own mistakes.

The onus is on the overtaking driver to get around the car in front. Vettel claims he had the inside line, had already overtaken Mark and was focusing on his braking point when all of a sudden Mark ran into him. What a load of BS! Did he forget about the bit where he swerved into Mark's car?

I know what Vettel was trying to do, he knew his line going into the next corner was going to be tight and he was trying to make room to get a better approach and turn in point. But you've got to get clear of the other car first mate!!! What's Webber to do? Move over and make it dead easy for you? This was for 1st position!

Webber wasn't the one who swerved or deviated off line, Vettel was! End of story little brat.

I hope Mark just knuckles down and kicks his arse, and not let the debate get into his head.

I truly hope he wins the world championship and retires. Then I'd suggest he walk through pit lane and punch everyone he considers a wanker fair in the mouth and heads home for a month of celebrations :)

This. Really getting tired of Vettel going sooky sooky la la.

:D It's pretty obvious the guy holds back on a lot of his thoughts.

    • I'm looking for some real world experiences/feed back from anyone who has personally ran a EFR7670 with a 1.05 exhaust housing or a .83 I'm leaning towards the .83 because its a street car used mostly for spirited driving in the canyons roads. I"m not looking for big numbers on paper. I want a responsive powerband that will be very linear to 8000 rpm. I dont mind if power remains somewhat flat but dont want power to drop off on top. The turbo I've purchased is a 1.05, although the mounting flange T3 vs T4 and internal vs external waste gates are different on both housings, I not concern about swapping parts or making fabrication mods to get what I want. Based on some of the research I've done with chat gpt, the 1.05 housing seems to be the way to go with slightly more lag and future proofing for more mods but recommends .83 for best response/street car setup. AI doesn't have the same emotions as real people driving a GTR so I think you guys will be able to give me better feed back 😀
    • Surely somebody has one in VIC. Have you asked at any shops?  Is this the yearly inspection or did you get a canary?
    • This is where I share pain with you, @Duncan. The move to change so many cooling system pieces to plastic is a killer! Plastic end tanks and a few plastic hose flanges on my car's fail after so little time.  Curious about the need for a bigger rad, is that just for long sessions in the summer or because the car generally needs more cooling?
    • So, that is it! It is a pretty expensive process with the ATF costing 50-100 per 5 litres, and a mechanic will probably charge plenty because they don't want to do it. Still, considering how dirty my fluid was at 120,000klm I think it would be worth doing more like every 80,000 to keep the trans happy, they are very expensive to replace. The job is not that hard if you have the specialist tools so you can save a bit of money and do it yourself!
    • OK, onto filling. So I don't really have any pics, but will describe the process as best I can. The USDM workshop manual also covers it from TM-285 onwards. First, make sure the drain plug (17mm) is snug. Not too tight yet because it is coming off again. Note it does have a copper washer that you could replace or anneal (heat up with a blow torch) to seal nicely. Remove the fill plug, which has an inhex (I think it was 6mm but didn't check). Then, screw in the fill fitting, making sure it has a suitable o-ring (mine came without but I think it is meant to be supplied). It is important that you only screw it in hand tight. I didn't get a good pic of it, but the fill plug leads to a tube about 70mm long inside the transmission. This sets the factory level for fluid in the trans (above the join line for the pan!) and will take about 3l to fill. You then need to connect your fluid pump to the fitting via a hose, and pump in whatever amount of fluid you removed (maybe 3 litres, in my case 7 litres). If you put in more than 3l, it will spill out when you remove the fitting, so do quickly and with a drain pan underneath. Once you have pumped in the required amount of clean ATF, you start the engine and run it for 3 minutes to let the fluid circulate. Don't run it longer and if possible check the fluid temp is under 40oC (Ecutek shows Auto Trans Fluid temp now, or you could use an infrared temp gun on the bottom of the pan). The manual stresses the bit about fluid temperature because it expands when hot an might result in an underfil. So from here, the factory manual says to do the "spill and fill" again, and I did. That is, put an oil pan under the drain plug and undo it with a 17mm spanner, then watch your expensive fluid fall back out again, you should get about 3 litres.  Then, put the drain plug back in, pump 3 litres back in through the fill plug with the fitting and pump, disconnect the fill fitting and replace the fill plug, start the car and run for another 3 minutes (making sure the temp is still under 40oC). The manual then asks for a 3rd "spill and fill" just like above. I also did that and so had put 13l in by now.  This time they want you to keep the engine running and run the transmission through R and D (I hope the wheels are still off the ground!) for a while, and allow the trans temp to get to 40oC, then engine off. Finally, back under the car and undo the fill plug to let the overfill drain out; it will stop running when fluid is at the top of the levelling tube. According to the factory, that is job done! Post that, I reconnected the fill fitting and pumped in an extra 0.5l. AMS says 1.5l overfill is safe, but I started with less to see how it goes, I will add another 1.0 litres later if I'm still not happy with the hot shifts.
