I’d just like to say a big thanks to Paul at Chasers in Melbourne for his hard work in getting 215kw out of my rb20 r32. He actually got a run of 230kw but the injectors couldn’t cope.

Quick specs

Unopened rb20det with unknown Km’s

· Hks25/30

· yellow jacket coil packs

· STANDARD Injectors

· Power FC

· Walbro fuel pump

· Greddy cooler

· Hks adjustable actuator 16psi

· Arc airbox

· 3” full exhaust

I tried the gtr injectors with a resistor pack but it was nothing but dramas so went back to stock and put a FPR on at 85psi

Feel of the car

Fantastic full boost at 3800rpm, second gear is all wheel spin and the noise is unbelievable.

If you don’t believe my ask the VE SS driver last night who got the shock of his life when a 20 year old skyline passed him on low boost like he was nothing.

Absolute magic.

HAHA sounds like your really enjoying yourself :D Post up your results in the Dyno Results thread if you already havent :) Whats your idea of low boost?

Wheel spin with that power and sort of response, time for some decent street tyres & wider than stock rims, then thin thing will be way more enjoyable :D

Good work, I like the mods, nice and neat! Just get those injectors sorted, 85psi base pressure on the reg = f**king band if anything goes wrong.

Yeh well maybe some like the wheel spin :D but you will definately have much more useable power with the wider wheels, better suspension etc

Not that im one to talk I still have stock suspension and 9inch wide wheels and Im hoping to make 360kw.

Yeah hear is a longer list of parts currently on the car

lmgt2 rays 9" 17" wheels

235 federal tires

whiteline rear swaybar

isc coilovers

isc cam gears

But at 4000rpm in second gear the car just takes off. i can't even look at my gauges or hand controller, its hectic.

Will be ordering 550cc injectors and raising the boost to 19ish psi

yeh the adrenalin just kicks in and you just cant concentrate. :D All I can usually think is "f**k yeh!!"

I have the same turbo on an RB20 but with GTR injectors and its great. 210kw at 16psi and only about 65-70% injector duty. My timing had to be held back massively as well, only running 8 degrees on the 'full load' area points on the map as above that it knocks(carbon hot spots or something, its an 185,000k engine). Still feels good, felt very fast when running proper timing as well. Out of interest are you able to look at your ignition map and let me know what kind of timing your running on the high load, high RPM points?

Cheers,

Adrian

yeah no problems at all, the injectors hit 90% duty cycle at full boost from memory. but I'll get the details for you later

245/40 R17's will fit mint on a 9" wheel :D

yeah the wheels came with 225's on the front and 255 on the rear but with 15% tread so i just put the federal 995 on.

guys what do you think my 1/4 mile would be at this stage? 13's ?

got to love the feeling of shifting gears with the wheels frying up ahhaha makes me excited for how my 33 will be this week after the tune after a long wait of building it up shame I wont be able to drive it for another 6months. Definatily get the 555cc injectors there really good

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
