R33gtr V Spec Attesa Help

I Need some help with the R33GTR attesa ETS system

When I start the car all the lights on the dash switch off then the 4WD, A-LSD and Check engine lights some on.

On the Attessa ETS error codes I get errors 5 & 6

Now from a bit of reading I believe the R33GTR ETS system is different to the 32 one.

I found the what I believe to be the error codes on This site

error codes for R33 GTR vspec and regular:

1,5 Front right wheel sensor and circuit

2,6 Front left wheel sensor and circuit

3,7 Rear right wheel sensor and circuit

4,8 Rear left whel sensor and circuit

11,21 Front right inlet solenoid valve and circuit

12,22 Front left inlet solenoid valve and circuit

13,23 Rear inlet solenoid valve and circuit

15,25 Front right outlet solenoid valve and circuit

16,26 Front left outlet solenoid valve and circuit

17,27 Rear outlet solenoid valve and circuit

31,32,33 E-TS solenoid and circuit

34,35,36 E-TS fail safe solenoid and circuit

41,42 ABS actuator relay and circuit

43,44 ABS actuator motor , motor relay and circuit

45,46,77 ET-S/ABS control unit ground and circuit

47,48 E-TS/ABS control unit power supply and circuit

51,52 E-TS actuator motor and circuit

53,54 Pressure switch and circuit

55 Air bleed switch and circuit

56 E-TS oil level switch and circuit

61 FR and RR G sensor 1 and circuit

62 FR and RR G sensor 2 and circuit

63 FR and RR G sensor 1 or 2 and circuit

64 G sensor 1 power supply and circuit

65 G- sensor 2 power supply and circuit

66 Side G sensor and circuit

75 Throttle position sensor and circuit and sensor

I have replaced the 2 front wheel speed sensors as they were looking dodgey anyway. I have disconnected the battery and ETS controller to reset it. When I start the car again the error codes come back. I can't really drive it at the moment as I have just had the engine rebuilt and it needs a tune.

If I have the 2 front wheel speed sensors disconnected I get 2 additional error codes of 1 & 2 There is 2 volts on each of the connectors that run from the ETS controller to the sensors, so I know the circuits are working.

Does anyone have the troubleshooting part of the manual for the r33 GTR ETS?

Does anyone else have any more info on the R33GTR ETS?

Thanks, I'll try this tomorrow

This didn't seem to work.

I hope I did it right, I left the ETS connected, disconnected the battery and pressed the brake pedal for 30 seconds.

Has anyone got the wiring diagram or manual for the R33GTR ETS-Pro?

Deano45 , you might be better geting someone with a 'consult' adapter to clear the error codes and see if the fault comes back up, also have you checked the wiring harness and connectors between the wheel sensor and computer?

33 wiring diagrams seem to be hard to find there is a 24Meg Engine manual (PDF file), I can eMail if you need or you could download through uTorrent

Thanks for that, already have the manual that you speak of but it contains none of the attesa/ETS Pro stuff for the R33 models. There must be another part to the manual as the 32 one contains troubleshooting for the ETS. As you said it's pretty hard to find.

  • 3 months later...

CRD had to adjust the TPS, Attesa system needed further bleeding and the reservoir then needed topping up.

Car is running nice now with the run in tune on it too.

Now to put some km's on the clock before the final tune. :D

    • Slimline sub on the rear parcel shelf is doable. Pioneer TS-WX140DA is only 70mm high.
    • People like Johnny Dose Bro might be laughing at my post because I accidentally added 100mm to my numbers. 350-355 is indeed the lower limit. 450 is off-road Skyline spec.
    • What is the "compromise" that you think will happen? Are you thinking that something will get damaged? The only things you have to be concerned about with spherical jointed suspension arms are; Arguments with the constabulary wrt their legality (they are likely to be illegal for road use without an engineering certificatation, and that may not be possible to obtain). A lot more NVH transmitted through to the passengers (which is hardly a concern for those with a preference for good handling, anyway). Greatly increased inspection and maintenance requirements (see above points, both).   It is extremely necessary to ask what car you are talking about. Your discussion on strut tops, for example, would be completely wrong for an R chassis, but be correct for an S chassis. R32s have specific problems that R33/4 do not have. Etc. I have hardened rubber bushes on upper rear control arms and traction rods. Adjustable length so as to be able to set both camber and bump steer. You cannot contemplate doing just the control arms and not the traction arms. And whatever bushing you have in one you should have in the other so that they have similar characteristics. Otherwise you can get increased oddness of behaviour as one bushing flexes and the other doesn't, changing the alignment between them. I have stock lower rear arms with urethane bushes. I may make changes here, these are are driven by the R32's geometry problems, so I won't discuss them here unless it proves necessary. I have spherical joints in the front caster rods. I have experienced absolutely no negatives and only positives from doing so. They are massively better than any other option. I have sphericals in the FUCAs, but this is driven largely by the (again) R32 specific problems with the motion of those arms. I just have to deal with the increased maintenance required. Given how much better the front end behaves with the sphericals in there.....I'd probably be tempted to go away from my preference (which is not to have sphericals on a road car, for 2 of the 3 reasons in the bulleted list above), just to gain those improvements. And so my preference for not using sphericals (in general) on a road car should be obvious. I use them judiciously, though, as required to solve particular problems.
    • Easiest way to know is to break out the multimeter and measure it when cold, then measure all the resistances again once it gets hot enough to misfire. Both the original ignitor and the J Replace version. Factory service manual will have the spec for the terminal measurements.
    • Yes that sounds right. Cars currently in the shop for the engine work. Will need to remeasure .. but yes I think I must be targeting 45cm from fender.
