Yep that's a fun day haha.

So can you count the times you got passed on one hand? I think I got passed 4 times last time I was there for a fun day and one of the cars was a boswell Nagari that passed me twice!

was a good day i got up there in the end Chris ahah didnt not see you however? i wasn't on the track much either, a few solo runs and took a few friends out.

but from when i was on the track, where were some real asshole drivers out there...

Mainly the Black commodore race car, all the people i spoke too and all my friends there had been overtaken by him or run off the track by him. Overtaking on hairpin corners? Tsk Tsk.

I also got the piece of crap Rx7 taken off the track lol cause he just couldn't drive all over the track and refused to let me past him so me and my passenger spoke to the marshals because it was his responsibility to pull over and let us through.

All in All a great day and i will deff go back :( didn't see many SAU'ers spent alot of time talking with other car owners though good day :)

PS: Does anyone know who that r34 GTR nur spec belonged too?

Driver was a bit of a tool over taking on hair pins didn't give us a chance to get out of the way before he barreled past us, but f**k the car was quick arround corners but my mates supra held him off in a straight line lol.. and the flames coming out the back of that thing were just incredible shooting 1-2 meters at times.

I was up there with my mate nobby in the purple gtir with a chalk board bonnet :(, That r34 was in the garage next to us. The owner was a dick. IMO I think they should restrict the type of vehicles coming to the FUN day to street cars. There was way to many die hard cars floating around which would be massively daunting if you were a first time track driver in a slower car. Especially if you had those other idiots overtaking in corners and so on.

haha.. yeah it wasn't many. in the sessions i went out in my only real battle was some olschool little one seater ford thing that probably weighed 700kg-ish.. it was bloddy quick.

That thing was nuts - what was it?

Not only quick but cornered and stopped much better than anything else that day.

That white rexxy NYTIME or whatever his plates were - got black flagged after giving it heaps, was one of the better drivers there, hanging on at 9/10ths on all the corners. Was great to follow his lines and learn where to steer, brake and boot it.

Was that you filling up at the BP servo in the morning behind me?

Bozz - i think so. u had the gunmetal 32?

first session i watched just to get an idea and the way people were coming down the 2nd shorter straight into turn 3, blaring down the inside and just pushing their way through, it really put me off in particular that black race spec commonwhore. ur all right in saying there were definately some dickeheads on the track.

i also found it a little hard to 'follow the rules' and not overtake on corners, fair enought the tigher ones but the 'cleavage' i really wasn't sure if i could, sometimes it would be safe but i just didn't want to get told off by the marhsalls.

was my first time on a track and damn did i learn alot. i can't wait to go again.

i was in the purple gtr. pic courtesy of charli.

lol why does it not surprise me ONE bit that Tony was black flagged, and was crossed up constantly @ a fun day ROFL

Yeah, I didn't know who to say hi to either :|

There were a few tools overtaking in corners, but I found most people were great on the straight when I needed to overtake I did and people just let you past, I decided to let cars keep passing me until I got a clear run ahead then opened it up behind that WRX before my car shit itself and I pulled off :D

That guy was driving close to perfect for a race, perhaps not a fun day :) - I learned heaps by trying to keep up to him and following him around the track helped me drive my car a lot better than I would have otherwise, I'm suprised the way I was heavily under brakes sometimes bringing the back out of line and on the edge of losing control as I threw it into the corners that I didn't get black flagged.

Yeah i know the guy who owns the Nur who brought it along. i think alot of people struggled to read that important paper every driver got with paying about the rules of the track.

was a few sau members there in disguise! said hey to matt (femno) was a pretty good day, nice to see only the commodores once again were overheating in the weather :D

That r34 guy was a real tool. He came over to me and a few to say something like "you need to up your game and push up your car a bit more, i have no competition out there on the track, my car is too fast.."

Then kept looking at me while i was getting my car ready, he even passed me towards the hair pin, slowed down to be a smart ass, then took off again (i was teaching my mum how to drive my car at the time). Was good to see him getting towed off the track later on in the day though, and he wouldnt so much as glance at me after that. Serves him right. Its a FUN day, which I guess a few didnt quite get.

    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
