i know where your at i was thinking about doing the same but after we worked out how much i would get for selling everything and then buying something in a few years it was just easier to keep the car and just borrow a bit more. most banks these days won't lend unless you have about 20% of the value of what your going to borrow.

are you just stripping all the go fast bits or the whole car down to a bare shell?

also my car is now sporting a highmount setup :w00t: am keen for a big drive when i get back and get the car finished

Phil, A pillar will be going on once and that's it. Only when I have the 2 gauges to go in. no need to remove then.

Can you get em? :P

Nice work Rob

Ohhh ok now I get ya. Sorry I missread what you typed. Yeah I think I can. Will let you know.

Nice setup Rob!

Car will be stripped right down. $10,000 of it will go towards my new bike and the remaining $20,000-$25,000 will go towards the house.

I don't need to do it to get the house loan approval - that's been done - however putting that money into the offset account along with the remainder of the deposit savings will knock down the interest in the first year by a huge amount. Enough so that within a few years that interest saved will make up for the rest of the money lost on the car.

Hey guys, new to Townsville but have had a sil80 before, sold it off and about to pick up the biggest piece of crap s13 I could find. Pm-r33 you work at autobarn ay? I'm gonna need a few bits could you look after me?

also what are the chances of getting a dicount on oil's & fluids if i was to put a large autobahn townsville sticker on my car when i am competing at the sprint series?

Phil knows how a few of us feel about his car

Battlefield 3 should be here soon for the ps3 for me, should be awesome! just had to wait for US stock to get into the company in asia before I get my 2 copies

Yeah can't wait for Battlefield and Modern Warfare! Batman has kept me occupied though.

Also if any one wants to buy a set of great condition R33 S2 rear seats for $50, a set of the Dimple Blackhole magnets for $30 or a basically new Turbosmart boost tap for $60 let me know.

Hey to all the tville people, phil you's should organise to come down to palmyra sometime next year to watch our r32 the car should be ready soon. Next time we take it out it will be running proper drag setup aiming for a low 9's. Would be good to have more skyline fans to come out and watch.

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate
    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
