Do any of you guys know that the police classify us in groups. They range from A to E and are based on enthinicity and car make. For example I was cat E as one cop put it to me a wog boy with a Nissan. I think cat A was Malay/Indonesian with a Toyota as so on.

Charming innit?

bahahaha, there was NO mention of drifting on the news at all.. it was about street racing and burnouts, and it was all clueless **** as usuall from the media.

Article in todays(wednesdays) west australian as well on it. Had **** footage of some crap vl's single spinning etc. I usually go there every thursday night and its no where near as bad as they make it out to be.. its usuall police sucking at their reall job so lets target a minority group(modified car owners) and hassle them.

Goto love it..

PS, i was 1 of those "40"(i'd say more) defect noticed vehicles

PPS got it over same way few days later.

do even go to these events pva_glue? I've counted over 100 cars at times at some of these meets we've had.. we've had leach hwy car park over flowing with vehicles etc.

SO yeh.. just curious whether 90% of u lot who comment actually show at these events or not, if so fair enough must go at differant times than me

:P

I commented, but I dont go to these events for the simple reason, why would i go out of my way to get a yellow sticker ? (operation "canary") anyone else find that a tad 'odd ?

The cops use yellow stickers as a deterrent only, to get people to stay away from certain places, and hey, guess what, most cases it works.

They're more than likely creating a hazard for Mr. Joe Public on his way home from a nice dinner with the family in the back.

That's my 2c. I'm just commenting on how a few individuals have given the majority of enthusiasts a bad name.... bleh!

trev's!! *grabs flame retardant jacket*

haha usuall trevs comment.. another typicaly uniformed person it seems.. check the footage, various imports are there, infact theres a large proportion of import drivers at these events.. :P

*end flame*

As for ausing hassle for joe public.. how? we fill up a carpark after work hours, we do not block roads that get used by general public at late night etc.. as for yellows hows that a deterent? most people i know that got yellow now have just got permits instead and will be back. :D

Fact remains it will always happen to why make a fuss over it, noise pollution i hear joe citizen shout.. i'm sorry but we park next to a 6 lane hwy that takes trucks from most of WA into the fremantle port etc. Media and police blow all these events out of proportion ina vain attempt to make it look like they are doing something constructive. pretty sad imho

I agree the media defiantly blow this stuff out of proportion...but what can you do.

The police have made a statement saying they are going to crack down on the meetings or whatever so if you continue to go and get yellows or whatever than thats your own fault.

If people ARE racing around endagering others well then those d*ckheads deserve to be busted by the cops..... as much as i like cars etc there is no need to endanger people on a VERY busy road.

Heya Summoner i do agree with what you have said however I am just not sure about the above comment about not Hassling and not blocking public roads, however from the footage from channel 7 it seemed as though it was on Leach Hwy. I live near Joondalup so i don't know too much about that area however when i do go down there it looks pretty busy to me.

I would have thought that Leach Hwy is a public road and is used by Trucks etc late at night???

It's not too responsible of me to say this but it is pretty cool watching some of the stuff but would it be better to find a more further out place than Leach Hwy?

****burn Ice Arena is normally pretty desolate, i used to play Ice hockey down there and after 10pm that place is a ghost town... just a suggestion thats all....

Each to their own thats all as long as innocent people don't get hurt i think is all that matters!

    • I don't think the shuffle can damage the turbos. It only happens at low shaft speeds and loads. It's just annoying (to some people - others are tickled by the effect) and it quite possibly reduces spool performance a little bit.
    • Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots?  What do you mean it was just temporary?
    • Can u check this way it works for power supply?
    • These coils draw 10amps that what i read online
    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
