Has anyone got pics of the fmic piping that runs to the throttle body? I've got a pipe kit for the stagea to replace the current return setup ... but I want to see roughly where I should drill/saw the hole for the piping.

While I'm at it ... anyone in Adelaide got the drill/saw bit I need to do the job? :)

We did an install on a GTIR a while back. Pulled the front bits off, mounted the ic & pipes then marked out where they looked like they wanted to go throo (with reference to other immovable objects). To make hole used something big enough to get hacksaw blade in then followed the marked line. Handjob.

lol me?

mine is forward facing plenum is that what you mean?

in any case its back at the mechanic for its full boost tune now the run in is done.

but it goes through the battery tray pretty close to the chasis rail in my case (need to move the washer bottle underneath).

i guess it also depends on cooler width and the kit's piping?

the pipe that runs through the hole is a U shape so you can measure the distance from the centre of the end that goes onto the core to the centre of the pipe . once you mount the core get the tape measure and on a radius from the core you can get it pretty prot on

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
