Funny you cared enough to hit add reply the first time, yet maybe failed to find a post of me flaming SAU, look im not here to argue about shit but i certainly will defend allegations that i have defamed the club

I can't quote with name/date/time (thread locked). All these quotes demonstrate your negatively towards the club as it was being formed. I don't care enough to waste any further time getting individual links for every quote, but they've all come from this thread.

(1) personal grievance don't make me laugh half the people on here truth be told don't look towards Roo and Kellie as people they would want to join a club with (to me that police meeting was just another stunt to say look @ me)

(2).1 getting stuff from japan is hardly a group buy

.2 as Xxxxx pointed out there are others to get stuff from japan also

(3) mate if you knew me you would know i couldn't care less about the bbq it proved to me salad and cubes that SA really didnt need a club and i personally don't think much has changed

Xxxxx feels the same way i do people actually liked Cubes and the thread was about whats best for SAU this thread you dont get that feeling, its just i want a club and im going to start one whether you like it or not even if it only has 5 members

whether you become a club or not i will still wear my SAU shirt whether i join or not

SAU was coming to where it is now to where we for see it to be going i don't see myself joining SAU used to be cool now its not. << that's a period
>>one of the first club threads<<

in october 07 Salad and I organised a pre club event BBQ and drinks @ mallala out of 35 people that said they would come i think we got 7 people

>>Failed BBQ event<<

AGAIN sorry if i seem skeptical as i have too many time seen it fail,

someone posted all we need is some more skylinesaustralia stickers printed up and i tend to agree.

And a quote from SLED from the same thread

This whole process has clearly grown legs and appears to be full steam ahead.......don't come across as sooky little girls by saying "I'm not gonna join" cause if and when you finally do, you'll look like dickheads

You changed your tune when they made you an exec, well done Steve you should feel proud

sorry but hes got you here. most of us remember the negativity when trying to get it started, looks like talbo hasnt forgotten either

-D

ok granted i said all those things and stand by most of them

NONE of them are slandering the club they are pointing out I didn't believe a club was a profitable exercise that would benefit the community as a whole

the only real big back flip was me saying i don't see my self joining the club, others nominated myself and Luke for exec roles and we discussed it with the exec team

only one way to get "the club" back to the place where it used to be cool and heaps fun is to have your hand in the pot

if i cant organise dinner's, track days, cruises and stuff to make it cool its not the club that has failed but myself

Steve (Talbo), you probably didn't need to go there in this thread but in Madaz's defence (which he probably doesn't need), I'm sure we've all felt one way about matters in the past or said something contrary to current beliefs and had a change of heart later.

We look silly when it happens but it's just human nature and we're all guilty of it......you included.

Thread Locked..........Again :)

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... HTH
    • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
