Has anyone with an NM35 had to replace a fuse? I've just realised my interior electrics arent working (electric windows, and sun roofs specifically) - but the radio, wing mirros etc is still all fine. I'm assuming I've somehow blown a fuse over the course of the last week.

I managed to locate the fuse box, and the back cover of it has a description of them... in japanese. The wiring behind that panel for me is an absolute dogs breakfast though! I had to take the entire panel off (not just the little cat flap cover) to see the fuses! Must be for the alarm etc

Any how, heres what I'm working with  If anyone has the feintest idea which one might be something like 'electric windows' or something it'd be much appreciated!! :D

did you accidentally short something out playing with the monitor? If you cant read it just pull everyone out one at a time and have a look at them until you find the blown one. If you have a multi meter you just go down both sides of fuses until one dosent read 12v on both sides. When you find it if it blows again you have a 12v+ touching earth somewhere. That plug from pic 2 in other post might be on the same circuit as the sunroofs.

That was my initial thought, short something while playing with the monitor, but I havnt connected anything up - unless I one of the screws for the mounting plate in the roof managed to pierce the plug =/

I realised the windows weren't working on my way to get the multi meter, sounds like I can put it to good use now

Well I didnt use my multimeter for it simply because its too difficult to use in the footwell - my height doesnt really help make me 'nimble' either. Took out every fuse and inspected them.. all looked fine  I'll see if the missus can help me translate some of the kanji tonight

Edit

Just removed the mounting plate and the windows are now working. Remote lock via the keys now seems to be on the fritz, unlocking does work though.. today perhaps isnt my day!

So with the help of the missus last night, we now have a translated version of the fuse box :P I've left it as the 'direct translation' as its more amusing that way, 'room lamp' :P it should all make some degree of sense though. Hopefully it proves to be of some use to someone else eventually :(

I'll be saving a copy, thanks :)

I'm sure it will come in handy, I'm yet to check my fusebox to see if anything was removed during compliance for any reason.

How'd you go with the remote key Dunc? Might be good to let us know just in case it happens to us?

Never did work out why the remote was playing up - seemed to correct itself the next day without any interference from me; I have an alarm/immobiliser with its own lock/unlock fob which I use now, and thats been flawless :)

Has anyone on Importing had their front screen fuse pulled out? I forgot to get it put back in and dont know wether it was the one in the engine bay or kick panel? And if so do we know which one it is on the nm35, I have an 03 Axis if that helps :)

I may have a short circuit somewhere and want to locate the Fusepanel and test it with a multimeter.

Where are the panels and how do I gain access to them . Tried searching for some images
to help me but no luck.

Obviously I am not very mechanical !
thanks in-advance.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
