Hi guys,

As some of you are aware, I'm trying to sell the Chargespeed demo car...have been for quite a while now...

It has been over 6 months and more than $6k in price drops, and still not much serious interest.

I need your opinions: Do I remove the graphics from the car? They don't actually appeal to my taste but I thought that given the TAS '07 history, it was best to keep it "as shown"... was I wrong?

Also, the seats are horrible: they look great, and the carbon fibre is of top quality, but they are not quite what you'd call comfortable: I was thinking of fitting either a set of factory seats or a pair of C35 Stagea seats I have here, but selling the Chargespeed seats with the car when the time came.

As a side note, if I were to remove the graphics and replace the seats, I could almost contemplate keeping the car as a daily (I would also need to colour code the bonnet and boot, and soften and raise the suspension a little: my broken back is not compatible with the current setup).

So, what do you guys reckon? do I do away with the lairy stuff and make it a bit more subtle? Hypothetically, would any of you be more likely to buy it as-is, or after my proposed changes are made?

I'm really struggling to sell it: the kms are slightly on the high side (84k), but genuine, and the price is reasonable, I think ($35.5k)... I'm looking for any constructive input.

If you want to see the full ad, either look for the plate CFV35 on carsales, or search for "Tokyo Auto Salon" in the whole cars sale section.

Cheers,

Micah

My opinion is on a car sales site the car looks like a thrashed race car with high K,s which is asking top dollar, have you tried MY105 or the like.

I would remove graphics and make it look untracked as possible, you could leave the carbon but supply stock parts.

Or fix the suspenssion and keep it.

Good luck with the sale.

Yeah remove the "racing" edge and keep the "street" side of everything.

All graphics remove

Racing seats remove (but sell with the car)

If your keen enough paint all the carbon to get it looking even more standard.

Or keep the car and swap Seats and Suspension.

Or Tade in and lose lots of money :action-smiley-069:

I also agree, take the graphics off. While the car is very nice and neat, it wasn't the centrepiece of a show etc (please don't take any offense, none intended).

If you go about removing the graphics (i remember reading you didn't want to touch the car to keep the history intact), then perhaps you can just drop in factory seats and factory suspension. I know someone awhile ago selling front seats out of a 350z 35th anni (so they should fit) and i have a full set of 03 suspenion in my garage getting dust, even the swaybars/bushes. Then with the graphics gone and comfier sussy and seats, you can keep it ? It'd still be unique with the kit/CF/Fibreglass stuff.

micah,

strip it and use it as a daily. I agree with the seats - horrible is the nice way of saying it. even when I drove the car I could not get in the right spot to move the car.

stickers - there is a Greddy one kicking around here as well. same issue. the yard had issues selling it till they pulled the stickers off.

Thanks for the feedback guys - good points made by all: I guess it's going to a body shop next week for vinyl removal! :D

Having driven it for the last couple of days, I'm remembering how much I love it.... edging more toward keeping it now.... we'll see how it turns out with useable seats in it...

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
