MV autos can build pretty tough auto boxes, I think it costs less than 5 grand too

RB30 with an RB26 head

3L will give you lots more low down torque for a heavy vehicle - just don't expect it to rev as hard.

I'm sorry that's bullshit. If you build the engine properly there is no reason why you can't spin it as hard as you do a 26.

The reason is piston speed (longer stroke). If you are prepared to spend megabucks you can get an RB30 to rev to 10,000 but that sort of negates the reason for getting an RB30 in the first place - cheap power.

I think darrin brought this up a while back. Lets talk V8s in a stagea. I know of a few people that have been building jap cars with LS1s for drft. Nismo used a VK45DE series in the super gt's instead of the VR38DETT. But a VH45DE / 4.5 ltr or 4.1 from an Infiniti Q45/Cima with turbocharging in a stagea would be very interesting.

Was talking to a bloke the other day building a turbo VH45 in a S13... that wud be fun.

Few years ago a bloke i know put a VH41 with dodgy turbo install into a old kingswood, from memoey made over 300rwhp.

TT VH45 into a manual AWD stagea would be insane.

There was a stagea being built to have a 4.1 v8 turbo (maybe twin) target was 800hp

The project has stopped to it being too hard to get registered

I think he is still going develop the motor for race ski boats as those guy's normally have plenty of money

There's a guy in Auckland put a stock VH41 in a Stagea (sorry no pics). He bought a bonnet scoop because he thought it would be needed for clearance but it wasn't. Tight fit everywhere else though. Reckons he has heaps more torque but RB30 looks easier road to me.
