daniel was at home ironing his blose as usual

ha ha tee hee :(

as the vehicle is up for sale at the moment it is pretty much living it's remaining days under my ownership in the garage. It's being cleaned, fussed over and polished, but not really driven.

I've been down the GOR once with the 34, actually stayed at skene's creek (the place up the hills in the trees) - some amazing roads that's for sure... too bad when i went down some of the worst storms in many year passed through the area and Vic (april '08 i think, lots of power outages all across melb and down that way as well) - candles and fireplace were needed at the accomm. Car loved it down there though, ate it up.

Grant, great to hear it was a simple fix. Told you you took it to the right place

Yeah the reason I'm going to Trent cos he is very easy to talk to and always helpful with my questions unlike many places.

so there were no metal shavings in the block? that's awesome!

p.s. merowyn say's hi :D

Yeah about one bit of metal shavings on top of piston 3, Peter and I suspected it is spark plug but I'll drain the oil just to be safe. I still have oil pressure which indicates the motor is tight.

Hi Merowyn :D

Will,

Yeah but I had to fork out $680 (2 x towings) for this damn thing.

When I'm going to put the HKS 2510s I've got sitting in my R, I'll replace the rest of clamps just to be safe.

Cheers

Grant

i got sick of the cooler pipe blowing off so i went nuts with hose clamps like this. http://www.norma.net.au/norma-gbs.html NEVER lost a pipe since!

Ron,

Ta for the link, how much did these set you back if you don't mind sharing?

Cheers

dont use them.... worst clamps ever (read attached link... i bin about 30 a week). T-bolt clamps are a terrible trend started by autosalon dudes who like shiny stuff. Norma make some killer clamps which actually work see this link.

end rant  lol

Trent,

That is quite a rant, these clamps are too chunky for my liking anyway. And you bin about 30 of these a week?!

Will have you to replace the standard ones with the one you put in my R other day when I'm ready to shit my pants with more killerwasps.

Cheers

Wouldn't bigger turbo happen to be one of these 'few things' you need fixed?

    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
