How many kws will i need to make to run into the 11 second bracket with suspension mods and full racing slicks.

Planning on going to the creek with 250kw atw with full slicks when car gets tuned.

im probably wrong so i may end up getting corrected, but if you can drive i think thatl be good for mid to low 12's

With what you have, assuming you don't have some silly laggy turbo, all the suns and moons align and there is a 30 knot SE wind, you can pull off an 11 with 250rwkw in that car but in reality, I would expect you to run somewhere around a 13.5. If you get many many passes in while you're there you may.....may get into high 12's......maybe

200-220rwkw will get you into the 12.9's on street tyres... and he has slicks. :)

250rwkw + slicks = high 11

However, you being able to pilot the car to an 11 is another issue entirely and for the first few meetings highly unlikely :)

 My previous car before owning my r33 gtst was a 1972 toyota corolla with a SR20 turbo running 180kw atw. Full sleeper look, car weighed 950kg and was fully engineered. Raced it at the creek on street semi slicks and ran a 12.8s quarter. Put mickey thompson full race slicks, got heaps of advice from local veteran racers at track and ran 11.89 after 6 passes on the full slicks. 11.89 s at 117mph with 1.7 sixty foot. Due to family illness i sold the car and later settled for a skyline . I cant get away from the nissan family.

Any way i would like my skyline to run this time. it will keep me happy for a short time :ermm:

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Its much easier to talk in mph, then if the suspension and the driver sort everything out then a good ET will follow. Anyone can run a good mph for that particular car.

Its not really a question you can put a power figure to and guarantee because you gota have the package of suspension tyres practice to run the car at its best at that power but yeah generally mid 200kw range and a good drag suspension setup wit semis and being pretty familair with driving the car prob will see you in the 11s.

For a given weight, you can work out what mph you require to run an 11. Then it is quite possible to estimate a power figure to run a particular mph over the 1/4. Then the final step is to get the launch right (60'), then you have your 11 second 1/4 time.

My 33 GTST (Full street trim) had semi slick tyres on 16s (lost about 5km/h trap speed with 16's compared to my 18 street tyres) 268RWKW and did a 12.3 with 1.8 60'. Its probablly achievable will full slicks as i was still spinning off the line though.

Going by you sig it was 1.89... On semi's that is an average 60ft... you have a 11.9 there for sure mate ;)

I used to manage a 1.9 60ft on 225 street tyres (220rwkw). Best ET in that config was 12.9X

See if you came to around 1.6 60ft, that would have been the 11 on semi's... i say you need to go again

It'll be easily achievable with full slicks, no question there... just comes down to driver

Yeah it was a 1.89 60' mate, Still span off the line abit, It was hard launching it as my turbo comes on quite late (4300) on a Stock internal 25. 0.82 exhaust housing with highflow turbo. Would be achievable though for sure! Just need some slicks :)

What type of semi's? Track or proper Drag ones?

I wouldn't think some Mickeys or simlar would be spinning that hard off the line so you wouldn't even need slicks to get your 11 as all you need really is a 1.6 60ft and that's achieveable for sure without slicks.

Yeah, they wernt like full semi slicks like the Mickey T's ET streets or anything, I had Toyo R1R's on stock 32R rims. Much much bettter then the cheap tyres i had on my 18's so thought id give them a go. Best 60' i could get with my 18's on was a low 2.1. If i had Mickey T's i should of been very close to an 11.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
