Chris Rogers, in Brissy

and Turbo Timers aren't legal in AU. and pointless IMO

ADR 25-Turbo timers are not to be fitted to vehicles manufactured on or after 1 January 1972 (ADR 25 Anti-

Theft Locks). ADR 25 requires that the normal function of the engine only occurs when the ignition

lock is in the engine on position

The Autowatch 446rli Premium would best suit your Skyline with its built in turbo timer feature.

As for Installers...what state are you in?

Yeah speak to Chris mate.

Oh, and yes thank you sapphire, for that information.....as if we didn't know, that so I suppose we are going to have to arrest at least 5 million people here in Australia for breaking the law. :D

If you promote something Illegal then your part of the problem with kids getting defected for them, which is bad business!!!

I don't like the ADR laws either , in USA you can go nuts without fear , COPS fight real crime in USA they don't have time for filling the coffers with defect notices

just leave for your destination 1 min earlier then let it idle with you in it?

end rant

Yea and the security risk of turbo timers, since most people don't install them with a proper alarm. There are a couple stories of people having their cars nicked because they had a timer that didn't allow locking of the car (or they didn't bother), so until the car actually turns off and arms, you got a 1-5 minute window.

I don't promote turbo timers sapphire and never have but 99% of my customers have a turbo timer or have intentions of getting a turbo timer, which won't work with some of my alarm systems as mentioned by Thelen. So as for me to eliminate the security risk of external turbo timers it is safer to have a turbo timer built into the alarm software.

BTW You can shut the engine down instantly with any of my alarms be it Autowatch or Mongoose in the event of getting pulled over by the Police in which case they would not find a turbo timer under the dash, because I removed it to fit the Alarm/turbo timer.

I just think your trying to get a little too much into the nitty gritty of this thread. At the end of the day the initial questions were answered in a couple of posts

end rant

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
