theres a few reasons why.

the main one is this is a FUN DAY. its to encourage noobies to get their cars out to the track and have some legal fun, and the senior members will show them what to do.

and timing isnt everything. bring a lap timer and away you go.

on a more serious note, with a good GPS receiver it is accurate to 0.1 second of the proper Wakefield timing gear.

Cheap as and pretty good. at teh start of your day, you set a point of interest on the pit wall. This is your start finish line, then away you go

If we do a track walk around you can even set sector points.

I've been a member for a while now (joined last year) but never received anything. Was I meant to get a membership card or something? Only reason I know that I am a member is that I have access to the NSW members section.
