Thank you guys for your support, I had organised a Track day for Gerards Birthday on the 20th of May.

This is still going ahead as a tribute to both Tom and Gerard, they were amazing guys and no words can express how much they are loved and will be missed.

It is a speed off the streets day, so if you were friends with either of the boys or wish to pay your respects, you are more than welcome to attend.

I will pass on all your kind words to the families involved.

It is a sad day indeed, but any words of support are comforting.

x.o

That's a gutsy post of yours Alex. You take care now on the 20th.

If the two families would appreciate a book each that I wrote called,

"GOOD GRIEF - BAD TIME" '3 Ways Of Coping With Loss' ...

PM me with your address, and I'll send them to you for free.

Otherwise these published books are distributed by...

www.bushchurchaid.com.au

One of the poems inside my book is this... It's written anonymously by a woman who lost 2 sons I'm led to believe...

"I'm Spending Christmas With Jesus Christ This Year"

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below

With tiny lights like heaven's stars reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular; please wipe away that tear

For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear

But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring

For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me: I see the pain inside your heart

But I am not so far away; we really aren't apart.

I cannot tell you of the splendour or the peace inside this place.

Can you imagine Christmas with our Saviour, face to face?

I will ask Him to light your spirit as I tell Him of your love

So then pray for one another as you lift your eyes above.

So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear

And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift from my heavenly home above.

I sent you each a memory of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold:

It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do

For I can't count the blessing or love He has for each of you.

So have a 'Merry Christmas' and wipe away that tear.

Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

God Bless you Alex...

I had med them both on a few occasions and have had some great chats.

Gerard always offered advice since I met him at my very first event last August..

It is a very sad day for us all..

Again Rest in Peace friends, Texi will always bring back some strong memories of a friend taken too soon.

Thank you for all the good times,

You will live on always in our hearts.

David

I only met Gerard and Tom at the last Texi event in Jan, but both were some of the friendliest guys I've ever metmet. Happy to offer a kind word, encouragement, and mateship. Though I didn't know them anywhere near as well as a lot of people on this forum, I can still say that I'll miss them... And that all of us will always remember them.

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
    • I couldn't agree more. I should have started from the get-go with a NEO or solid bucket conversion. I started looking into converting over to solid lifters yesterday. Now for some reason I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  But I see no mention of this on any of the Tomei documentation.
