I have a R32 GT-R and ive been trying to read about the top mount XS power and OBX manifolds both on gtr.co.uk and Supraforums. Seems like people who have braced them dont have much problems with them, some have cracked and needed to be rewelded and some needed to have the bolt holes opened up with a drill to allow fitment.

But for the price i dont mind if i have to improve them a bit.

Anybody here that can comment on how they worked for them, here is the XS power Version 2 / $258.00 US Dollars

XS power vers 2 manifold

link to the OBX one / $315.00 US Dollars

OBX Manifold

mainly need to know if a T4 Precision Billet 6765 with a 1.15 a/r will fit it or maybe a GT4202 with a 1.15 a/r, so hopefully someone with a similar sized turbo can chime in

good or bad results, just want to get some info. And maybe state if you braced the manifold, what size turbo and if something went wrong what was the problem exactly :bunny:

btw i posted on gtr.co.uk also

if you are going for that big of a turbo why not just buy a good quality manifold to start with? ETM, 6BOOST, fullrace

well i live in Iceland and im trying to keep some costs down if possible. Its costs very much to import car parts here and the damn depression didnt help. Our currency went to shit in 1 year. So everything now costs twice as much as it did 2 years ago and it wasnt even that good back then lol.

one guy on gtr.co.uk replied , he has the xs power manifold

Ive got the XS POwer manidfold on my car.

2 things i had to do, skim the surface on the flange that goes on the head, and rebuild the pipes for the wastegate. They were to small.

Im on the 4th year now, and no cracks at all. Taken it off / on the engine a few times, no problem with warping.

No braces.

Been on the dyno 4-5 times, 3,5 years of trackdays, dragracing and streetdriving. Totally now almost 25.000km.

Im currently running 590hp / 680nm at all 4 wheels, 1.7bar on a GT4088r.

Asim

Ive got OBX twin manifolds, tuned length, and the OBX split front pipe 2-into-1, for R32 RB26dett.

Weld quality is excellent, they give it a lifetime warranty. The header manifold pipes, whilst small to keep to stock position, look fantastic quality.

Cant fault the front pipe either.

Just need to fit, along with twin hks split dump pumps and a decat flex pipe Ive got here. Hard @ 6'8" with no physical knees tho :bunny:

nice, post up some results when you have installed everything

im using a xspower mani from ebay, i bought it 5 years ago. it had not had a single issue at all. street track etc etc. only thing i had to do was enlarge the wastegate ports on the collector

nice, im not quite seeing why everybody is saying you need to buy 1500-2000 dollar mani´s when it looks like the xs power one works. I know the other ones are much better quality etc. But you can almost do a whole fuel system for what you save by getting the XS power one.

what about the OBX manifold ? anyone ?

here are pics of the xs power mani

im about to buy one for rb25det..

the obx looks better with the twin outlets to the gate..

cheers

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
