Hooray!!! Man I hope the weather is going to be good for this!!

What do you mean you "hope" the weather will be good?

Of course it will be! The import gods will shower us in sunshine for honouring Godzilla!

Terry forgot to mention that this will be organised by the same crew who organised the 10th Anniversary R34 GT-R Cruise (and all of you who came know that was awesome!!!)

We plan on making it bigger and better this time!

Just bought two tickets for the event so pretty damn good chance of making an appearance. Now to decide whether to drive the GTR up or chuck it on a trailer!

It's great to have you along Vu.

By making a weekend of it, Fri-Mon, perhaps you'd like to see the V8 Shootout on Sat 9/10/10 then...

Stay overnight at Pioneer Way Motel at 429 Great Western Hwy Faulconbridge 02-47512194 (suitable for low-lip cars) then...

On Sunday for our big event 10/10/10, it's just 25 mins down the hill to Tench Ave., Penrith :)

Cheers for the info, this will be something different - havent been to Sydney before! I've got a vague plan for the weekend will have to see closer to the date.

Will be great seeing loads of R32 GTRs together :ninja:

Both my girls turning 21 years old this year.... the GTR and the missus. lol

Mine's a daily which means I drove my GTR from Melbourne :-) Take a drive mate, just keep it on 5th and 2900rpm and a useful passenger :)

If you need a carwash before the event let me know, I might be able to arrange something for a small group ;-) (don't worry I won't be the one washing lol)

SOO DESU KA :)

Well I wrote a much longer reply but bloody Maccas' internet keeps disconnecting me.

I did the route today driving up to Katoomba and among other places including the cinema in which the event will be using to screen something very special. The drive itself was excellent, lots of challenges for you need to keep awake! The weather was excellent.

I visited the Edge (cinema) and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a high tech facility in the middle of nowhere. Katoomba has no Maccas, just plenty of interesting restaurants I did not expect to find including a few chinese, thai and greek! The Edge however has all the food and drinks you want. It is big, clean and professional with a sizable arcade section for the gamers in us. It will be a great place to relax after a hour and a bit of driving!

I'm expecting big things from our sponsors/exhibitors and am very keen to know what kind of R32 they'll be putting up. If not I'll put mine there

Lets just say that 400 Skylines turn up, can we somehow break this up into groups? I would actually like to see a group of all gunmetal R32s which I believe will be a lot out there. WOuld make an interesting video ;-)

Your SA plates along with ACT, NSW & QLD will add tons of flavour to the day; especially with SAU, Performance Imports & Motive DVD shooters floating around. :P

Hi Sam,

I see you have been checking out the route, just a quick question regarding speedhumps.

Were there any, can you remember if there were any and how bad were they?

I am worried my exhaust might be a little too low for some humps out there.

Thanks mate.

Hey dude, you won't find any speed humps in the route that we've mapped out unless you veer off-course to see the 3 sisters, Evan's point etc (which I did!). The only places I worry about are the entry/exit points at the meeting place and at the cinema, which most of us can maneuver anyway.

:(

Within the Edge Cinema complex, there are no speed humps to speak of ie. very mild.

When entering The Edge Cinema area, it's best to enter the carpark further past Civic Place & there's no speed hump.

But if you enter via Civic Place, it's best to enter via the 'Exit' lane on the right hand side (next to the retaining wall). There's no problem then.

Thanks for the update Terry, much appreciated.

I shall be there even if i have to get a tow truck to help me over the bumps.

Btw you are doing an excellent work organising this event, so more power to you my friend.

See yous all there, rain or shine.

:(

    • Well, yes, every CU on the bus is available via the Consult port, but whether the scanner you are using is capable of talking to the TCU, the ABS/TCS modules, etc etc, is what is at question here. Many of them are only for engine codes. So, if you have one of those, you won't know if the ABS is having a bitch.
    • That's now. R chassis Skylines come from a time when the tolerance in the ADRs was a bit more....slack. My car, on 235/35-17, which is damn near the exact same size as the original 205/55-16, is pretty much bang on correct indicated speed across the whole legal range. That's demonstrated with constant speed run over 5km, and GPS speed. It's just the luck of the draw. My particular speedo head has to be the thing that is "calibrated" that way, because everything else (the diff ratio, the gearbox and the speedo drive**) are all same same as most other Skylines. **OK, so the speedo drive is a Navara unit to drive the R32's cable, not the electronic unit than an R33/4 would normally have with teh same gear on it. Otherwise, I applaud your OCD tendencies, and I would do the same if I needed to.
    • Not too sure, I believe the Nissan consult port does everything? Also just filled up the reservoir to full and the light is still on. The float seems to move up and down fine.
    • The speedo's can be very conservative, when my Mazda NC MX5 speedo is showing 118kph, the GPS, and a calibrated radar.... cop mate.....hits me at around 110kph +/- 1 or 2 kph, and that is on a 215/45 17, stock tyres size is 205/45 17 as well, so weirdly conservative with stock tyre size When my Commodore speedo red 116kph GPS had me at 110kph on 255/40 17, so again conservative Google says manufacturers need to set the speedo from 4 to 10% slower than actual road speed.....for safety.....and compliance  After doing some offset and clearance measurements to see what can fit the NC on 17x8 +40, without guard rolling or rubbing anything at my current ride height, I've decided that when my tyres are toast, I'm going to fit 225/45 17 and see where that gets me IRT actual speed of my speedo and GPS/radar From the online calculator I should be still be doing around 5kph under an actual 110kph when the speedo is showing 110kph My ADHD requires that when I'm doing 110kph on the speedo, that the actual road speed is actually really close to that, and not alot slower And going from 205 to 225 still keeps the car within the %/mm allowable in the NSW vehicle rules and regulations, which is nice, as long as I'm looking at the latest version that is.....LOL https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-02/RMS-13.464-Light-vehicle-modifications-Vehicle-Standards-Information-No-6-November-2013.pdf
    • Take the value it measured as, and pick the closest range available that is above the reading on the screen.   Also, no point just testing the coils. Read what has been said again. You need to test all your wiring, everything.
