whos smart ass? he got good ts? mayb u dont change gears quick enuf?

Yeah I have a lot of work to do and a car I can grow in to. More capable than my current driving skills. Yes my gear changing is crap. Who drove it well I wont really tell needless to say has a lot of experience and has driven 9sec cars. This is only the second time I have ever drag raced and am happy to be in the 12s. Anyway was keen to see any footage. The car was getting quite loose in third towards the end of the track.

Actually 0.4sec is a reasonable difference (as is 5mph) On the drag strip a 12.4 vs 12.8 (assuming even launch) is a multiple car gap. On the road it won't make as much difference, 'cause a 12.4 & a 12.8 will still see you defected just as fast :P

Judging by the lastest AIR results from Greg's & Lachlan's cars they couldn't be more evenly matched! Providing they're the ones doing the driving :)

Drag racing is so much fun. Great to see you guys out there that night.

Your cars looked excellent. There are a lot of V8s on the street that dont pull those times.

Well done. As far as Micks driving is concerned, yes he is a good driver.

Next time why dont you guys swap cars for one run. It amazing how much faster a car can go when you dont own it. ha ha.

Must admit I am a little hooked. Think I will be away for the next one however. Decided to get some nittos and rims for racing. Save chewing up my 265 18 inch RE540s. If anyone knows of some for sale I am interested.

Yep it was fun, pretty steep learnign curve. Especially when we started out in the mid thirteens and ended up with the times we got.

Joel, spool up is not THAT much different between motors, I have stock exh manifold, plenum etc that might help with spool up as my compressor and turbne wheels are bigger than Grepin's but he has Greddy plenum, tubular exh and other nice high flowing stuff.

Might end up doing that swap Munro.........can you do no clutch flat gear changes with those gearboxes :)

Grepin was slack and did not organise his own cameras!! So no one has anything?

Greg,

No muckin' around mate, straight for the Nittos! You sure are hooked! :)

Lach,

Do you reckon Greg will lend us the Nittos? Just to keep things on a level playing field :spank:

Yeah mate, we'll teach him how to use them.....it'll be a double Garrett + Microtech Boost Worx vs HKS + PFC Tilbrooks WHIPPIN!!!!

Haha :) I guess it's only fair that Steve join in as the 2nd Tilbrooks/HKS/PFC car :spank: Hmmm.... how do you take timing out of a PFC via the handset? :P

OT - Go the Aussies in the cricket tonight! B. Lee you legend!

You can add or take timing out using the HC.

Also add or reduce fuel as well. Does it across the whole map. Used the fuel correction when I fixed my leak and the tune leaned out. Good utility I can put in some Toluene and dial in a couple of degrees or alternatively add boost and take some out. Not as good as having different maps like the Mocrotech however. Anyway Datalogit is now available for GTSt. Will be mine shortly.

Great game of cricket!! No way the enemy will get a hold of the nittos. May already have some rims lined up. Better have a look at the SAU drag times to find where the HKS vs Garett vs Tilbrooks vs Boostworks vs ...........sorry nodded off. Boostworks needs to find a driver to compete in the tuning shop driver category.

;) nice times guys .... all you need now is to crack 12.74 and you'll be in the game :) :) :) j/k .... I very much hope you guys will be running at the 4,6 and Rotor Nationals 14th Feb!!! I will be and I don't want to be the only street driven jackass out there.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
