I had a 33 front pipe on my S1 but the rest is different. Have you got a stock set up or are you going to 80mm or bigger? I don't have a cat but you could just measure the pipe before and after the cat if you are buying a new one.

Sorry - see you are talking cat-back. Pretty sure you need a Stagea specific one or you could just get an exhaust shop to make one up.

yeah Ive currently got a 3 inch system from front to back but have a couple of holes in the mid and rear mufflers so rather than repairing them I thought replacing it with an r33 catback which are a dime a dozen would be a quick fix.

it will fit, but you need a section put in after the centre muffler, and possibly a section added after the rear diff. It will probably still be cheaper getting one modified than getting a zorst shop to make it all custom.

I've got a 33 cat back on my S2. It has had a piece probably about 10inches long added in the middle and the back box tweaked around slightly as well as the hangers moved.

I was in at an axhaust shop today and the guy told me that the X-force R33 systems require the rear hanger to be moved 8" to fit into a Stagea. He said they were a perfect fit.

I'm not convinced as the Stagea has a longer rear overhang than an R33.

+1 The 3" system on my Stagea was originally for an R33. Just added a longer section in the middle, via a Berklee resonator, and all was sweet. :)

A skyline exhaust WILL NOT be a direct fit for a C34. You need to add some piping, generally some before the resonator and some after it. A descent exhaust shop will be able to do this for you rather cheap. So IMO if your after a cheap turbo back for your stag buy a 2nd hand RB25 3" bellmouth front dump for about $100 and then wait for a catback comes up that you like. Shouldn't cost any more than $100 to mod and fit the cat back, do the dump yourself.

Heres the comparison of a stock rs4v zhorts with a R32 3 1/4" cat back

Clearly its not going to fit but hook it up and have a listen to see if you want anything of it changed while your getting piping added.

    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
