unsure if its the standard clutch or aftermarket clutch in my 33 (hasn't been changed since i bought it, previous owner wasn't sure either)

i've noticed lately that now i have to push the clutch all the way into the firewall otherwise it crunches, I used to only have to press the clutch 3/4 of the way to the firewall... my mate says its the clutch fork boot. would he be right?

If it helps, i noticed today sitting at the lights, on a slight incline.. clutch in, in first gear, take my foot off the brakes, (clutch still fully in) the car rolls back the slightest bit but as soon as i give a little gas the car stops moving backwards even tho the clutch is still fully depressed.. If i dont blip the gas the car keeps rolling backwards.

Any ideas?

Also, i dont have the cash just yet to fix it, is there much harm that can be done if i drive it for another week or so?

it wont be the boot at all

either a pivot issue(often break), or clutch failure(pressure plate issue) of some sort, or bad adjustment caused by master of slave failure

maybe try bleeding the fluid for starters, first at the nipple on the master, then if still shit, bleed at the slave

mates having a little bit of the same problems as yours, we will be replacing the slave as thats what we think is causing the problom, his is on holidays so will let you know when he gets back if its the problem or not.

let me get this straight, while the clutch is fully pressed, and u press the accelerator, the car stops rolling back, even if you have had the clutch all the way in the whole time?

as lotsalag said, won't be a boot issue. the boot is simply a rubber seal. i'd say it will either be an adjustment issue or a pivot bolt issue. i've seen a few skylines snap the pivot bolt (mine included).

there is a small chance the that actual clutch fork is bent, but i doubt it unless you have a super heavy clutch.

Air in the system, worn master/slave cylinder, pivot ball snapped/worn, or pressure plate worn.

If you can get under the car, pull off the clutch release arm boot and have a look inside with a torch. Get a mate to sit in the car pushing the clutch pedal in and out. Will give you a good idea what is happening with it.

yep.. so its like the clutch is grabbing the slightest bit (hence the car stops rolling back) so even with the clutch fully in, its still grabbing the slightest bit..

i dont get any clutch smell, gears dont crunch. The clutch feels quite heavy (same as my old car with a hd clutch in it)

will bleed the master/slave over the weekend.

What was the solution to this? i have the same problem :)

With the clutch pedal all the way in, i can either not get it into gear at all or if it does happen to (on occasion as it is temperamental), i roll forwards lol, while the pedal is still in.

Did this once and since had got the lines bled etc, has had new push rod and adjustment done and was all sweet for a while now its back to this again. ?? domokun.gif

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
