hi guys im currently running a snow performance unit on my rb25det, and was wondering why your all injection so much w/m 500cc 600cc is huge! im only running 175cc and thats enough for between 380-450hp. so there scale says. and i agree with statments earlyer overtaking lines of truck or cars is so much easyer with huge horsepower as longe as the car is sorta strait when doing so :/ i have ordered a 60cc injector to do pre turbo injection on my car so ill see how that runs. as far as getting pure methanol i just did a fuel supplier search for my local area and found crockers fuel distrabution and i picked up 2x20L methanol bottles for 85 bucks. heaps on the shelf to. plus 2x20l distilled water.

2 x20 litre bottles = 80 litres of mixture, hell you'll never have to buy meth ever again - are you drinking the stuff???

I used the SP nozzle that had 370 stamped on it, I had three to choose from and after talking to others and asking SP that is the one that was recommended - I'll see how it goes.

If you want a straight drive, get a 1.5 way locker, works a treat [not so good around roundabouts though, have to be careful not to put the foot down too soon - otherwise it wants to torque steer straight].

And yeah, I ordered mine through a fuel supplier, could have got it myself, but you have all the hassles of arranging freight and most common carriers won't touch flammables.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have decided to go with the Aquamist HFS-3 kit as it seems like the best suited kit for my application.

Now a couple of questions,

What size jets should I be looking at running? Hoping to get around 550hp with the injection on -5 turbos.

What size tank would be best suited for someone who does 1 trackday a month (nothing competitive) and only drives the car on weekends (lucky to do 150ks a week)? The car is a 32 GTR.

Any other bits that I will need that aren't included in the kit? Like 1/8"NPT tap for the jets or will most workshops have this as I will be getting a workshop to install the kit.

Thanks

Im using this as a rough guide to my Jet calculation's

http://www.howertonengineering.com/Jet_Calc.html

Some information on the jet installation can be found here:

http://www.howertonengineering.com/Kit_Install_FAQ.html

"1) What size tap will I need for the jet?

The jet ships with a jet adapter that is the actual unit that will be tapped into piping/manifold/etc. This adapter is 1/8"NPT. Therefore you will need a 1/8"NPT tap and 11/32 drill bit. If you wish tap for the jet and forego the adapter you will need a M8x.75mm tap and 7.2mm(9/32") drill bit. Please see question #2."

Im looking at around the 500rwhp mark and probably going to go with the twin nozzle setup ( a 0.8mm and a 0.9mm )

I would decide on the tank size after you work out how many CC's you are going to be flowing a minute and how often you are going to be wanting to refill the tank at the track days.. im looking at the 10litre AIS tank, it looks quite presentable and has space for the pump to be mounted at the bottom of the tank and should hopefully be plenty for one tank of fuel.

Hope that helps

  • 3 months later...

i daily drive my car with a Labonte Meth kit with a m4 nozzle, i have 1000cc inj and a holsex hx35 it sprays right before the TB, it make my car super rich since i havent retuned for it yet, but its pretty cool, i got low level indicator, and i have light for when it sprays, a huge tank and the solenoid. I use washer fluid (peak) and no trouble yet. i have it set to spray when i go over 10psi with my retune and the meth i hope for around 550hp on my built rb25. i drove it for easily 3000 miles with 0 hiccups outside of being super rich

    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
