to the OP, ive also got a silver series 2. when i 1st got it, it was 100% stock, literally the 1st day i got the car i drove it to work (i was on red Ps at the time) so i let the bosses son take it for a quick spin with me in the passenger seat, were driving round the block (malaga) and see a highway patrol car about to pull out, this is the 1st copper ive seen since being in the line, so we go past to turn right at the lights, he pulls out and crosses over 3 lanes to go behind us as we turn the corner sirens go on we get pulled over, he gave my bosses son a warning coz it had red Ps up n hes like 30, apparently it was just a 'routine check up', so after that i thought f**k me this is gonna be a daily thing.

but after over 1 and a half years and a few thousand $ spent on mods, thats the only time ive been pulled over and i drive my car every single day to work even near the airport where the cops are like flys on shit.

actually i have been pulled over b4, hit redline in 2nd gear on beach rd (had an arab red p plater in a mazda 3 tryna show off to his gf by gunning it past me off the lights) and doing that blew my standard turbo rofl, a cop happened to see the whole thing pulled me over when i turned off onto alexander dr and he let me go on the spot, he was a nice guy just told me to drive it home and go fix the turbo (could hear it screaming from miles away)

was 7 in the morning, leaving my girlfriends place reversed out onto south street and started turning down a side street to miss alot of the traffic, was putting my seatbelt on, copper rolled past right in front of me, and i was like sigh, my sprinter has 2 mis matching pannels, massive cannon on the rear and ironman hanging from my tow hook.

they started following me and i knew they were going to pull me over so i indicated and pulled onto a side street before they even cought up.

turned engine off and got my license out.

did a rbt, told me there was a little man hanging from the rear and i told them he was just hanging in.

asked me if i had any weapons in my car, i laughed and said my girlfriend would kill me.

didnt even warn me for anything told me to have a nice day. was pulled over in my terrano for doing 70 in a 60 zone, that morning had my front p plate fly out of the window, didnt bother to replace, coppers gave me 100 buck fine.

couple of my mates are cops, but they all say you have to stay away from the traffic nazi's

cant wait for my stagea to get here, will be such a sleeper

Well, heres my little story...

I'm 16, stil on my l's, 6 weeks till my p's.

Went and picked up my r33 that i bought, 2 minutes later driving, pulled over first rbt ever In my expeirence on the roads, and it was within 2 minutes of driving my skyline.

Anyways on with the story, Completley stock Na R33, i'm just smiling loving it, within 2 Minutes of my first movement in the skyline got pulled over, instantly I began to shake knowing I didn't have my L plates on I began to shake, pulled over, The Police officers, Seinor Constable ******* From Maqurie Feilds Highway Patrol. Good Evening Officer Did the Rbt, He then asked me why I had no L plates on, I jokingly informed him that I just had picked it up, He was like really? Yes!, Well it is a $197 fine for no plates, I apoligised he asked me to get out of the car I did.

He asked me to follow him, he walked me around my car talking to me about The R33 series model, talking about the car and how nice it was, not one thing changed from stock (minus the sound system) and how much I payed Etc, He then asked me to Open the bonnet, no worrys sir, Opened it talked about the Engine with me Top Top Bloke.

He then ran back to his patrol car and gave me about 2 L plates and told me enjoy my new car, and dont be doing any silly modifications because you already are attracting enouph attention.

My First Expeirence With The Police When I was driving, and it was 100% Positive, A Good Time To scare me to :D

Anyways Yeah just wanted to share sorry, Please dont flame me.

Jus.

Almost have the car for 3 years now.

Pulled over/stopped 4 times.

3 Times where during a Easter Holiday long weekend (once they pulled me over just 500m from my drive way), another more recent one was through a Booze bus.

No fines/defects from any of them :D

Moral of the story for me is; don't drive around Easter time!

3 Times where during a Easter Holiday long weekend (once they pulled me over just 500m from my drive way), another more recent one was through a Booze bus.

Yeh I got pulled over and stickered 200m from my house :) Was fun though, was in the middle a school zone, and was just about when the kids were all coming out of school. So me and the cop made a show of it and he pretended to be 'aggressively arresting' me right in front of the school, was good for a laugh to see the kids faces :D

I've been in my r34 about 2 months now, seen countless cop cars, yet to be pulled over.

Maybe it's cos mine is pretty stock

Yeah I am the same, I have had my black r34 for just over 2 months and I havnt been pulled over...yet. :)

But yeah most of my driving is peak hour driving, and weekends its usually during the day.

R32 GTS4, pulled over cause no numberplates, showed permit all good.

R33 GTR, pulled over RBT, was just about to be let go and guy says my Ps are inverted colours = wrong, $100 fine. Fag...

Then about a month later, got let through a RBT and I was going all wtf how did that happen....

R32 GTR - not been pulled over.

M3 - Never been looked at, lol.

3 years in my 32 and only been pulled over once.. i deserved it.. took a corner rather fast (not sideways or anything) but there was a police car around the corner and he just pulled me over and said to take it easy coz you neven know what's around a corner.

about 6 times in nearly 2 years of owning my R33, keeping in mind i was 18, on my red p's when i first started driving it..

1-for having "blue led light strips under my front bar..." they were white for the record

1-R.B.T.

1-being a cockhead exiting a servo..chirped the wheels a bit...resulted in a license check

3-"license check and have a nice day"

since ive got onto my green p's ive had no trouble with them what so ever, every so offen i get followed for a little bit then they go away once they've looked up my plates and see a clean record  ive got nothing against cops, My best mate is one, their just doing their job afterall.

    • Cheers. Skyline is back on the menu, can’t get rid of it. It’s like a child you don’t want, or herpes
    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
