Recommended Posts

ok, so i'm less of a noob when i start uni, i'd like to hear your perspective on uni - advice, tips and tricks and all the stuff you got up to so i know what uni is all about! :)

oh and i while on the tram i saw a red r33 with sau stickers and a drive right sticker above the exhaust driving down swanston st...who was it?

Cheers,

Greg

uni is a bludge, kick your feet up n enjoy the ride... just make sure you get ur assignments and assesment tasks done and you'll be fine.

No one's there to give you a rap on the knuckles when u slack off, so keep yourself in check. Other than that get used to bumming about and bar nights full of drunken sex :)

What course are you doing?

If u r doing engineering then u can bludge 90% of the time coz the only thing that matters are middle and end of year exams which are worth 85% each.

Its sux tho coz u sleep in dont show up for lectures and only a few tutorials and then its exam time and u r farked coz u know shit!!

Lecturers dont gives a fark about u coz they get paid big $$'s and if u fail u just end up paying back more hecs when you get a job.

Enjoy

well im at Melbourne Uni mate, i finished my first year and yeh not really coz i have failed alot of subjects..Due too having fun too much, playing soccer everyday, and if the weather is nice driving down to the beach side, yeh uni is pretty fun... but can be stressing at times(couple of days left for exams), the rest its farken alright, but it is bad if ya got no friends, so u need to make friends if ya wanna enjoy it...:)

Greg, take the advice of one who has just done what you're about to embark on. I just finished my B.Com from Melbourne Uni, and you think first year's a bludge, and it is, but don't slack off too far, second year's really important because it's what's assessed for vac work and for grad recruitment too. (sorry to sound like the nagging parent, but I'd hate to see people got through the crap I've just been through with looking for work and stuff)

Just make sure you do your tute work, it's piss easy in first year, just pay attention during QM1, 1A and 1B, (it's a big ask coz it's a shit boring subject), plenty of time for skylining. And for god's sake, get laid during O-week, there's plenty of college chicks missing home and need somebody to comfort them (god I was an asshoel then! lol), but it's what it's allllll about!!!!!:) But go out to the parties and stuff, and as many balls as you can get to (really good place to pick up)

But don't slack off too much, I'm in the shit coz I slacked off and didn't get a grad spot, luckily I just started a new job today so I'm one step closer to buying my 'line ;)

Okay, there's my pearls of wisdom, just send me a PM if you want more tips on surviving your B.Com

    • I thought Australia got rid of the "drag dodgy fuel up to 91 RON with ethanol", which is why all E10 advertise as "up to 94 RON" ? Anyway I put E10/91 in the missus' Mazda because she empties the tank weekly, when all my cars get 98RON. tl;dr - turbo - 98 RON, if you can't afford that, sell it and get a commuter car (or tune your car for 91, which no one does).
    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
