chasers tune on a knife edge sometimes.... racepace tune could have been safer

I actually thought opposite, my car was tuned stupidly safe.. Made the power but it was just stupidly laggy, they gave me a pretty dyno sheet to say i made power but it was all uptop and useless downlow.

My favorities from driving peoples cars, and graphs and talking to people..

Status Tuning - Dr.Drift

well as i said before i went with status tuning and couldnt be happier with the service and the tune !! my car feels so much smoother but gets up to speed alot quicker its great.

i went from 171rwkw to 188rwkw which will make me happy untill iv dont my suspention and breaks then my target is atleast 235rwkw,

anyway here is the dyno sheets.

oh yeah its a series 2 r34 gtt with

blitz FMIC

jjr belmouth dump pipe

cusco 3" high flow cat

drift pod filter (makes no diff)

running 12.1 psi boost

thanks again trent the car felt great on my way home !!.

woh... you had some wavy ass curve going on there initially ey?

Nistune? is this the first time tuned or has it been tuned before?

no first time nistune ! on the first run trent said that dip is were i would feel the change the most .

right oh, looks fantastic now, you'll definitely notice it that's for sure.

do you have an aftermarket catback exhaust?

yeah its a 3" jasma (very quiet ) trent said if i get rid of the center mufler i would get more power but for what it would cost it wont be worth it !!, also he said iv im chasing more power down the track its better to have the quiter exhaust so i dont get hastled by the cops .

Good work,

Hopefully i can nistune my car soon =D

Any other differences apart from a smoother drive? I.e. Do you feel a big power difference mid-top range?

Cheers!

Heres my tune from Trent, this is my 2nd tune from trent with a new turbo, been thrashing my car for 2 years now with trents 1st tune and and this 2nd tune and still going strong!

On the stock ecu you made 171rwkw and made a 18rwkw increase from nistune?

I'm not very well informed about skylines as I own a s15 but that power figure is impressive for a stock ecu.

I have pretty much the same mods on my s15 and make something along the lines of 145rwkw :starwars:

Oh and will be heading to Status/Chequered Tuning when they have free spots!

Yeah it had a boost increase already to 11 psi so the base peak was good to start with but look at 3000 and 5000 rpm.

3000rpm gained 20rwkw and 30nm

5000rpm gained 45rwkw and 70nm

that's where the differences really show.

    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
    • It's almost certainly the same as the one next to it. • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
