I just changed my plugs, and i might add that the irridium option for the 89-92 R32 (b***5IE-X) or whateveris Bl***y expensive ! i got the shock of my life when i found out the price - but then i noticed the lifespan and wasn't so worried - 140,000kms - as opposed to the 35/40,000 of the copper NGKs, so given how difficult they are to change, id say it's worth it. And i also gapped them a bit closer than the previous set i had - give a *noticeable* amount of extra torque, not monstrous, but certainly more driveable, esp. on the open road. (changed from 1.1 to ~0.9 if your interested, but thats just what the plugs were factory set to) Also seems to havce improven economy a bit, but ill hold the verdict until i've played with it in some different evironments.

Just bought a set of Platinum Plugs for my R33 RB20E, cost £60.00 !!!!

The part number was PFRG5-11, these are not iridiums, does anyone know of a reason why they should not be run in this engine ??

This may seem like a totally stupid question but i just bought my R32 RB20DE two days ago, had a good look under the bonet and i am totally stumped as to where the leads and plugs are and how to change them. Ive heard the lead is a coil over, what exactly does this mean also? sorry if i sound stupid but im new to skylines so bear with me

Coil packs, they are running along the top of your head, pull off the intake, pull of the plastic cover on the head (allen keys if i remeber) and there you will see the row of 6 coilpacks and the distributer sitting at the back, which is bolted to the top of the plastic cover - Have fun when you wanna change them, set aside at least an hour.

havnt had any experience changing mine but i have made a list of all the parts i may need in the future...

someone correct me if im wrong but...for our situation i think we use..

or the Iridium Option is the

BKR5EIX-11

to suit r34 rb25 neo non turbo

jus want sum input on wat spark plugs r running in ur ride, copper/irridium, gaps, brand, part numbers, prices.

have dun search and came up with the following numbers, but no comments on wat examples work better then another....

PFRSG-11 guessin its copper, 11mm gap, brand unknown

BKRSEIX-11 guessin its iridium, 11mm gap, brand unknown

trying to decide between new copper plugs over short intervals or irdiums for long term and brands etc etc.

use the ngk platinum plugs PFR6A-11 even though mine is a gt-t i have been told these plugs will work fine in the n/a skylines. you can pick them up from any supercheap auto 4 i think from memory 18 bucks each. mine had pfr8b in them then put the pfr6g in and the car is running beter than it was b4 hope this helps

those part numbers are unique to NGK plugs. a seach on the forums (and google) would have confirmed that.

so judging by that, the PFR5G's should be platinum

i have an r34 25gt and when i was going to change the coilpacks i thought id get some new spark plugs too. so i bought the ngk iridiums and i got all 6 for 70 bucks at repco. when i installed them i found out my car had the same ones in there, so they must be good, now i dont have to worry about them for ages.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.   
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.

    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
