Thankyou so much Mark for posting this up. I guess I should be grateful my car was found but I never expected it would be in this condition. I've attached a couple of pics of what she looks like now. Its f***ing disgusting. The thugs have been charged but they have been doing this for a while and they won't be stopped. I am now plotting my revenge.

Like Mark said, the engine and wheels are missing along with the exhaust. It looks as though they took all the panels off the car, stole my stereo, ipod, cd's etc and then kicked the absolute crap out of the car and attacked it with an axe. They spared my front bar (i'd say they were going to sell it). Every other panel has damage (athough possibly repairable) and yeah Just Cars have classed it as a write-off. They left my gearbox behind so I have sold that. I bought the car back from insurance for $1000 and am trying to sell what parts I can. I've still got the coilovers, brakes, panels (doors are still good), the drivers seat and part of the back seat.

I am now on the hunt for another R33 as nice as mine was but it's a bit depressing trying to deal with at the moment. And yeah, my car had an alarm and immoboliser which was still hooked up when i got the car back so I am at a loss for words as to how they stole it.

If anyone is after parts just give me a call on 0418630495. And cheers again everyone for your kind words.

Belinda.

Sorry I can't PM you...my post count isn't high enough. Ring or text me on 0418 630 495. I am home all day and will be home tonight. You are more than welcome to come see what parts you want. Give me a call and I'll give you the address.

Mate I know exactly how u feel! I had my car stolen and written off a few months back and I still feel sick in the stomach thinking about it. I ended up doing the same thing as you and buying my car back from the insurance company for $300 as I knew the value of the parts that were still intact. I'm amazed that they broke into your car and didn't set off any alarms! Quite scary actually considering that almost nothing can stop thieves these days. Was your car garaged or parked on the driveway? My car is now garaged every night, with a steering wheel lock, wheel clamp, alarm and immobiliser protecting it. Sorry again to hear about your loss and let us know how the hunting goes for a new skyline :)

The legal system wont do much to pursue justice. I know a guy that knows a guy, feel like buying a shotty? :)

I dont know how you could even look at it. Ive personally seen some dirty shit in my day, but this made me cringe.

All the best with selling off parts, did just car give you a fair price for it?

Yeah the whole thing is pretty scary. The skyline was parked in my driveway beside my Clubby (hubby was taking up the double bay shed with his car cause he was doing a motor swap). I have no idea how they broke into it without anyone hearing an alarm. It truly was the worst day of my life. And yeah it's so hard looking at that crumpled mess everyday but in a way its nice having her home. That might sound ridiculous but i reckon its better back home with me than in the hands of those thugs.

I love the shotgun idea. I did ask if I could buy a shotty but my husband said NO. Lol.

I did put a deposit on another R33 Series 2 tonight. I can't believe how hard it is buying another car. I want MY car back. I keep making comparisons between my Skyline and this one I'm buying but it's a very tidy car and well looked after. I wanna make some small changes on it first off...like changing the exhaust and fitting an intercooler. I am pretty new to the import world so I might be bugging you guys a fair bit with questions.

And thanks again for the comments guys. Its nice knowing people are so passionate about their cars.

Cheers, Belinda.

its hard to find something and nothing will really ever compare.

when you buy your next car, get a doberman or rotty. :D

hubby cant say no to an upset wife who just bought a puppy to cheer her up can he? >_<

all the best with the search though

when you do find something you should head up to the baskins meet ;)

Haha I've actually got 2 dogs that are excellent guard dogs and very protective. But me, being the lovely person I am, let the dogs sleep inside that week the Skyline was stolen because it was cold. That will teach me won't it.

Picked up my new Skyline last night. It has some very big shoes to fill but I love it already and am very happy. If this one gets stolen, I will be out for blood!!

holy shite!

Sorry to see your car end up like that....

I never leave my car any where i own a dirty 1980 mod patrol just to go shopping lol.

My car is locked in the shed they would have to smash my house to get it.

Plus i have a killer black cat that lives inside!!

  • 2 weeks later...
she's a write off. They took the wheels, had a go at spraypainting it and totally f**in demolished the body with an axe

While I did predict it, I'm sorry to hear it mate, as I said before it was a pretty sweet lookin' ride

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
