As per the topic does anyone know a retail shop i can just walk into and buy some xenon globes?

Also perhaps at some cheaper prices than what I have listed below.

Don't want to order online and wait x amount of days, need them right now as one blew last night.

Bursons don't have any in stock, need to order same with Autobarn.

One Bursons store in the eastern suburbs quoted $250 for a Philips d2r 4200k whilst another Bursons store two suburbs away quoted $330. So it pays to ring around. Also a little peeved at the dramatic price difference from the same retail outlet.

Autobarn quoted.

Philips d2r

$344 4200k

$400 5000k (approx)

$453 6000k

Narva d2r

$319 4200k

No one had prices on Britax d2r globes but can order them in.

Pete

pretty sure theres a dude in the SE somewhere that fits them for 70$ or something..

ask TJ RBPOWA he knows where :(

i'd give u a spare but mine all blew when i was having issues :P

Yeah mate I stock D2R's $65 express delivered a pair, currently have 4500K, 6000K & 8000K temp on hand.

The brand I use have actually outlasted my old Phillips set.

will try to remember your sig i have one blown but it is one of the parkers do you know if there zennons or is it only the main driving lights

Freddy,

I called Bursons Mitcham who quoted $250, Bayswater quoted $330.

That's cool dont worry about checking for me, but thanks for the offer.

I'm going to take up Dan's offer, that price is too good to pass up.

Cant afford $250+ spending at moment, all that money for a single globe :)

Dan,

How do I go about ordering, should I drop you pm?

Mick,

Pretty sure parkers are standard T5 wedge type. Cant quite remember if 12v5w or 12v10w.

I just chucked some T5 LED bright white autotechnia brand in there to try and match the

xenon white....fairly close.

yeh thanks had a good look tonight will take one out to get it matched just noticed the it other night when i left my lights on so didnt really look ..you would think bursons would be standard prices all over but it pays to shop around bursons must make up there prices on the day if sales are down prices go up

thanks Mick

Mine blew tonight as well..

Can water affect the bubs? I would assume they would be covered from any water in or around the engine?

What do I even need? (M35)

Is it just a matter of replacing the bulb?

Sorry to hijack the thread - its kinda relevant!

T10 wedge actually :P

I had T10 written before i posted then i second guessed myself and put T5 :)

WTBN, couldn't imagine it would help.

The headlight unit is very well sealed but in saying that, the one that blew had

a slightly fogged up lens the other the other morning, so moisture could have been a factor.

NM35 is D2R also. 4500k is std but, I reckon 6000k go a bit better, that's what I've used in the past.

Jaycar have got the h4 / h3 types not d2r. But wouldn't be surprised if the could order them in.

Never thought to check with them though.

Got my situation sorted today, popped over to see a forum member who lives close by, he is parting

out his Stag (rip) and got the original/oem 2x philips d2r 4200k. So have a spare now in case another blows.

I was even looking at 5000k, bit of a compromise between 4200 & 6000 to try and get get a whiter light.

As the higher the k rating the less light penetration you get.

Hence I wouldn't get 8000-10000k, as it would not light up the road as good.

Still thinking I should get some of 666Dan at that great price.

there is a Importer on Bridge Road Keysborough, the only one so its not hard to miss. he offered me one for $70 installed no return.... the no return policy made me keep my $70 in my pocket :D

check ebay, you can buy pairs for as little as $100 :) that way you wont have any gay multi color head lights like our friend Tom-Tom has

lol :D

If you have the round cover on the rear of your headlights screwed on correctly, no chance water will get in.

For M35's -

D2R Xenon

H4 Highbeam

T10 parker/indicator

You may gate away with just replacing the bulb, just make sure that it is the same as the one already in there (factory are 4300k).

    • Have you confirmed its the actual axles? Also the wheel bearings that mount on the hubs to hold the axles wear out. I replaced mine as they got play in them. It sorted my play issue.
    • Ive converted a few clusters for the R33 with 320km/h dials. On the back there are some pads which can be bridged or unbridged (using solder or wick braid) to calibrate it. There is one bridge which is for MPH <> KPH; and there are combinations of bridges to offset it. There is probably a diagram  For example; this is my conversion for a 180km/h dial to a 320km/h dial (I put custom GT-R dials on it with the GTS25t layout) If you have J2 soldered (assuming the S clusters have a similar config to the R clusters); you may need to remove that solder

    • This. A 3d wheel alignment is like $120...just take it to the shop. Since theres probably multiple adjustments that need to be made after changing something. Mine has front/rear lower arms, traction rods, tension rods, camber arms, toe arms, front upper arms, hicas kit, sway bars and coilovers. I measure from the edge of the bolt holes on the originals and set the same length on all the adjustable stuff to dial it as close as I could to OEM. Took it straight for alignment; it didnt feel right at all...after alignment, it feels perfect. Similarly i've just changed the springs on another car; and I still needed multiple adjustments to bring it back in spec.
