This week is third week for waiting my compliance plate approval. The workshop keep saying that it is not approved yet and it will be dilivered soon.. Oh.. got.... it's been more thatn 15 working days///

Someone told me that time of process can be different depending on the workshop. is it true??

Any possibility to check it by myself??...

I don't think time varies based on the workshop. the time varies based on workload of the various people involved in the process. so that includes your workshop, DOTARS, the engineer signing off on it and even the people who print and distribute the physical compliance plates (well stickers now).

don't stress. 15 days is a little long but it's not out of the realm of possibility. Calling the workshop won't achieve anything other than pissing them off so my advice is sit back and wait for them to call you. don't worry it's not like they are going to have it arrive and then just sit on it for days before calling. they will let you know as soon as they get it. after all the quicker it gets done the quicker they get paid.

i know every day seems like a week but you will quickly forget about it once you have the car.

Very clear comment that make me feel better.. I am thinking hundreds of times before calling them. but called many many time..

If they told me "WAIT 3 WEEKS", I can be patient. they told me initially.. next friday..or souldnt too long... or maybe in 3 days...and so on... "SIGH"!! Thanks for your comments...

well the problem is they can't know exactly how long it takes. they are just guessing based off their experience in the past. so they know 'usually' it takes 1 week or so, but sometimes it takes longer. they have to wait just like you. nothing they can really do.

my advice, leave them alone for a few days. maybe give them a call next monday if you don't hear anything by then.

Hey YONG, don't worry i am in the same shoes at the moment but my importer showed me a website as long as I got the VIN number of the car you can keep on searching once your car shows up it will take matters of days before you get it. Shoot me a PM if you want the site.

Please let me know the website....I could not find anywhere I can find some more detail with my VIN number..

no you can't do your own. and no you don't need a dealers licence to do compliance. a dealers licence is to sell cars. to be a compliance workshop you must have ISO certification first and you need to apply through DOTARS to become a RAW (Registered Automotive Workshop).

also to clarify on topic...

the department of industry (formerly DOTARS) i have heard are experiencing system upgrades - which are now complete but they're now playing catchup on the backlog of applications / plate approvals,

this is just WHAT I'VE HEARD so take it as gospel, but it could explain why your cars are taking "so long" (it's really not that bad btw)

mine have been on waiting list for 2.5 weeks and counting and i'm not fussed at all about it - when it happens it happens!

Yep same boat here, VIA's were all being processed manually last I heard.

DOTARS system crashed, data wiped and has been intermittently up and down since. We have several cars with compliance complete sitting waiting for DOTARS to clear them - have been waiting since early this month. And those that have been cleared, half the time they're not sending the details to Niddrie Name Plates to issue the actual compliance plate.

If this were a private enterprise, they'd have 11ty lawsuits on their hands but as it's the GOVT, leave a msg and they'll return it sometime. If they feel like it and don't *accidentally* delete the msg first. And don't dare mention the VIN of the car you're enquiring about, or it goes to the back of the list.

As with every other aspect of vehicle importing - put your patience hat on and don't take it off til the thing is registered. Otherwise, it'll just do your head in. Won't it Mr Eps? :P

This is the precise reason I don't ship a vehicle til I have a VIA in hand!

haha im proudly wearing my patience hat but it also helps that i chose to wear my cefiro pants as well..

It's pays when importing a car to coordinate your wardrobe accordingly :P

Yong... Don't stress... Stressing is the second worst thing you can do in these situations, the worst is setting yourself on fire.

Yes it's a pain in the butt... However it's the gubbermint, nothing you can do??

If anyone got CPA or VIA from them.. it may helps to estimate possible date of approval by comparing others...

Heard that one has been applied end of July was just approved yesterday...

My will get next week... hopfully.

My patient is going to the end now.... it's been a month now...exactly!! still need patient??

"SIGN"!!

"SIGN"!!

I'm in the same situation..

My 34 GTR is sitting at the compliance shop where its been for a month now.

just waiting for a silly compliance sticker..

They've told me they will call me when it arrives, it takes a lot of control not to annoy them everyday.

I hope i can pick it up next week.

To anyone that is concern here is the website to check if you compliance is approved and then from there onwards its a matter of days for the compliance shop to get the plate and then the car is ready to go.

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
