by CSR, are we talking about what is available at United outlets?

CSR (Sucrogen) E85 is NOT available at any pump in Australia. Sucrogen E85 is the true "Greenstuff" V8 Supercar fuel and is green in colour with 108 octane rating. No other E85 has a higher octane rating and all other brands of E85 that is available at various pumps does not have the high octane rating - other E85 fuel is not green in colour either (this is how you distinguish the true Sucrogen E85).

Sucrogen E85 also contains the corrosion inhibitor additive DC1-11, which means that the fuel will not corrode any motor parts! This E85 is only available in South-East Qld through Mercury Motorsport or through another mob in Toowoomba (not sure of the place's name though). V8 Supercar teams such as Dick Johnson racing do stock the fuel, however do not sell it to the public...

It is also available from marinelli motorsports in ipswich. But at 2/3 bucks a litre yall can shove it where the sun dont shine.

The stuff that will be available from the pumps will service all but the most hardcore needs as already experienced by those fortunate enough to have access to it in sydney and melbourne.

then my post still stands then (to an extent) the E85 that CSR supplies to United isn't as high a rating as Manildra's.

but i was not aware of ANOTHER csr E85 though - interesting - is it cut with 98 or 91?

My information came directly from John Thompson, owner of Fuel Control in Melbourne, who actually mixes the Sucrogen E85 and distributes it. He didn't mention another distributor located in Ipswich, just the Toowoomba one

Funnily enough trent thats what marinelli's say too.

Really?? Well, that's interesting!!! Next time I speak to John I'll query him on it... Ours is $2.50 per litre...

OK, Marinelli's DO NOT SELL Sucrogen E85.

Go to Fuel Control's website www.fuelcontrol.com.au this will tell you all the info you need about the true E85...

:P

Interesting, I'll actually go back to marinelli's next week and see what they have to say. :)

CSR ain't that high. Manildra is higher, but it's only 106-107

Manildra is higher Octane, MATE YOU SPEAK CRAP ! The Manildra product is NEVER THE SAME OCTANE OR RON.

Also other sellers mix small poor quality batches of so called Race E85.

ONLY SUCROGEN/CSR PREMIUM E85 HAS A 108 OCTANE - How do I now this ? I blend and make the fuel.

FACT - NO OTHER E85 COMES CLOSE TO THE PERFORMANCE OR PROTECTION OF SUCROGEN E85.

SUCROGEN E85 108 Octane is the only tested and race proven E85 in the Australian market place.

Lets clear up one major point - E85 PUMP FUEL WILL NEVER BE HIGHER THAN 99 Octane, IT WILL NEVER GIVE THE SAME PERFORMANCE AS A 108 OCTANE E85 SUCH AS SUCROGEN.

FUEL CONTROL HAS DISTRIBUTORS IN EACH STATE - MERCURY MOTORSPORT, HP HEAVEN, HERROD MOTORSPORT, RED R RACING, BRINKS PERFORMANCE, RPW PERTH.

These guys build the best performance vehicles in Australia, so it makes sense they use the best, TARGA TASMANIA will ONLY USE SUCROGEN E85 AS A CONTROL FUEL.

So what I am I trying to say, SUCROGEN E85 / 108 OCTANE IS THE BEST. IS THE ONLY E85 THAT WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU NEED,

Fire up! :)

Fuel talk aside.. How does the GTR feel to drive on the streets - only if you do of course :)

Sounds fantastic, my dad even loved the dyno clip. I would love to know how drivable a 1000whp GTR is! Major driveline mods??

They make E85 - IT HAS NO CORROSION INHIBITORS AND IS MADE FROM A VERY LOW QUALITY ETHANOL.

You will never get the same Octane result so that stuffs your tuning. Been there done that.

You better race down to sydney and melbourne and tell all those guys that are using that really low quality shit that all their horsepower gains are just fairy stories.

No one is saying your fuel isnt better quality but who the hell is going to pay 2buckfiddy a litre to fuel their daily.

given that it returns about 30% poorer fuel economy makes it an even worse proposition.

Your fuel has a place, no doubt about it but dont shit can the other guys product when it has proven results on the board.

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
