like i said abouve chantalle, i have the highest respect for nurses, and our hospitals wouldnt function without them. however to say that a doctor and nurse are very close in what they do is just untrue. there is a reason why the training for a nurse is 3 years at most and 5 years for doctors atleast.

speaking of duty of care, a nurses duty of care doesnt extend across multiple hospitals or even more than one ward like a doctor's. flipping that same coin, nurses are also not as accountable for a patient's health status and any mistakes/malpractice as their treating physician. i mean who gets sued more?

there is much more to say on this topic, but im gonna leave it there. i dont wanna get into this conversation cos it sounds too much like im blowing my own horn, which would make me a tosser.

I don't disagree with the legal accountability and malpractice lawsuits but they are still looking after human life that is in danger of falling ill or dying, that is a role and a half even if it's not on paper...doctor or nurse...and that is why I think they are underpaid for what they do. As slinky said, sometimes all that is needed is a doctor's signature. These nurses can't all be lying!

Patch Adams out!

lol @ tipping people in hospitality, didnt know anyone actually did that here in Australia.

If I am not a regular I do if its worth it... if they are awesome in the important areas, they are likely to get tipped from time to time and have me as a regular.

so all you doctors out there, please write legibly, make an effort, the nurses will love you i reckon.

@basti, its gonna be hard if you can't read your notes yeah? i don't have notes, i steal them from my coursemates 2 weeks prior to exams, HAHA.

Basti-I totally missed your first few posts. My set up was all wrong and now it's much easier to read.

Thank you,it's good to see people have respect for nurses, I read somewhere recently that we're more likely to cop a beating then a cop *sounded like bullsh!t really* Doctors defiantly have their place though, respect to anyone who can sit through more then3 years of Biology, it's a lot of work and they deserve the respect for it. You guys also get that status of saying your a Doctor, we don't get no respectable title. Dr Basti sounds so much cooler then Nurse Handley or Slinky Minky RN or RM (Midwife)

Alvin- Hot food leads to hot tips. As long as it's hot and I don't have to get up to re heat it, I'll tip.

Birds, Vspec & Hektic- There really needs to be more male nurses. Need more to look at in lectures :) A friend of mine goes to the paramedicine lectures to stare at the guys. Some of those paramedics are sexy though.

That's because Div 1's are hot ;) Lots of gorgeous girls in my course.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
