fcuk thats good for $135! I'm guessing power output is down a little bit but thats alright get multiple ones ;) You could buy 7 of these almost for one 580EXII or SB-900 lol. Joe McNally styles represent.

Comes with bounce card and it can tilt and swivel and its got IR! Also, auto zoom, can be used as OCF in a group and it has ETTL features and lots more!

I might have to look into a few of these!

I'm sittig here waiting for some feedback. I might grab a couple myself, or one of these and one of the bigger one for that extra power. the bigger one is still like 250 and it looks awesome.

So I'm going to a wedding this weekend, I'm thinking i should take along my camera and snap away. Sidd, as a wedding photographer, do you, or do you know if the proper photographer will get upset if there's another slr floating around (And trying to not get in his way)??

YES I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will post up a picture and tell you why!!

I mean I got no problems with others bringing slrs (every single person has one these days anyways), but i hate it when they come in the way for the important shots (eg, the couple walking down the aisle, or when they put the wedding rings on etc). There has been plenty of shots ruined with others that come into the frame.

I will post up an example tonight when i get home.

But otherwise i got no problems at all. As long as you dont come into the way for the important shots I dont really care. hahah hope i havnt scared you, but take your camera man. Its good way to learn and to see what the pro's do and dont..

Alienbee B1600 and B800 & Vagabond II portable power pack

Hi guys

Alienbees are a great set of lights, these are the 110V version, and make a great location lighting set. They have been well maintained and are less than 12 months old. The work we are now doing is moving us away from having the need for this type of location lighting, so we have decided we must part company for the short term. The retail price for this set would be $1408 + Delivery. I am willing to sell these for $1000 + delivery and if you buy this set by then end of September I will throw in 1 light stand and 1 42" umbrella to start you off.

good deal?? Don't say yes, I'll be upset cos I got not cash right now :D

I know they're eBay spec but meh.

Also went and picked up my 50mm 1.8 today, will be dumping a ton of shots I just took out the back of my house on Flickr (got the day off, had wicked headaches this morning when I got up, sucks to be me). Gotta get a 52mm UV filter though, got 2x 58mm by mistake when I got the cam. This lens will be mental when I get that 25mm extension tube.

Nice shots Owen!! Keep at it!!

Matt - Thats pretty good dude lol... Its around $400 for the vegabond II, $480 per strobe also and more expensive for a 1600.

Join the AB line!!!!! DO ITTT!!

Hells yeah I'll it!!! I plan on getting very serious about this... in a fun way ;) Unfortunately I can't blow 1k on lights just yet. ;/ i'll make do with my crumby flashes from 1980 and ghetto rigs. When I've got the cashola I'll be getting lights, and a couple of extra lenses.

Nice shots owen, i see you've found what the 1.8 does well :(

Since today is absolutely fantastic outside I've decided i'm not coming into work tomorrow. i'm going for a little trek through the blue mountains with some gear, have a stroll and take some snaps. That sounds like a much better plan for the day :D

FFFUUUUUUUU Matt. By the way, this has been bugging me. Is it "Mat" or "Matt"??

Sidd - After i finally convinced you to buy AB's almost a year later after we first talked about them and 6 months after i bought them, you better friggin use them! Sh!t, even i use them for the stupidest thing just so i can use them lol.

Hey kids!

Owen, that flash looks a lot like my Sigma DG-530 Super flashes, and it looks like the features are very similar. Awesome value for that price, especially if the build quality is good enough to get you by until you decide you want/need something better (if ever). Oh, I bought my second flash through DigitalRev too, and have the same reflector. The reflector looked like it would have been pretty handy, but it broke when I took it out of my bag to show Kory the other day. Lesson: always pull it from the strongest side (the side with no splits or perforations for folding) when you're remove it from your bag.

Matt, I got your SMS but I've already got plans for tomorrow, so no can do. Besides, any sort of trekking over distances would kill me due to my health, unfortunately. Re: the weddings, I've been to two weddings where I've brought my camera along and just stood in the background taking snaps. I made sure I wasn't in the way of the official photographers at each one, though.

Oh, I got my Photo5 kit from Canon today - I've taken the wrapping off it and am about to go and try some stuff out. The 60D is pretty nice in the hand, just need to get that 17-55mm f/2.8. Should I just go through DigitalRev again? It's just under A$1,270 with two filters... http://www.digitalrev.com/en/canon-ef-s-17...ilter-1719.html

Suggestion for Digital Rev's website, if you can, try and pay in USD:) work out the AUD price on xe.com, there's a fair bit of difference.

eg. that lens, $1261.17AUD

Bought in USD 1,079.85USD = $1168 AUD.

Hmm, ok so in that case it wasn't much, they must have changed it a bit.

Nick that was quite funny when you showed me in two pieces i must admit hahahaha.

As Owen said, have a look on B&H and Adorama. Although the shipping will be $100 or so it could end up being cheaper with the dollar so high right now.

P.S. I got my Photo5 pack last night too.

LOL, it was. "Hey, this is the reflec.... Oh..."

Yeah, B+H had it for US$1,060 (Canon US) or US$1,040 (imported), so I might consider that too once I figure out the final cost, but the DigitalRev pack already included UV and CP filters, as well as some gift pack (which looks like a cleaning cloth and solution).

Photo5? *googles* Inspired by Sound?

Assuming it's some kind of competition/collaboration...

http://www.canon.com.au/worldofeos/photo5/home/ Not sure how many packs are available, Owen, but get in quick if they still are! It's free, too.

Was hoping to get that box from Canon  I've got some great ideas for that latest portfolio

hurr im an idiot

basically the sound is someone whistling, like a bomb dropping. what i wanted was like an image of a young couple, say 15 or so, and they're on a bridge, platform, whatever. like they're going swimming sorta thing. and the boy has just jumped to go into the water and the girl is there kinda half bent over hands over her mouth and laughing, kinda a "omg what is he doing!"...

i've got the image in my head... gah

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
