Thanks mate, it took me a whole fricken day but then I'm kinda slow when working around the carand take my time. Plus I had major issues with getting the lenses off and then having to restore their shape as they warped during the heating/removal. Then the siliconing mess ... then the cleanup.

Messy job and hard to get the shade you want with 'VHT Night-Shades' as the dodgy spray can is dodgy. Doesn't matter if you shake it for 10 mins it still sprays unevenly and then you have to do another layer to even it up. That's why mine turned out so dark.

Doesn't bother me that much though .. I still have the stock tail lights and can go back to them if I ever get bored of these.

Dan,

Sent you email about the lights - can all the lights for the R34 be exported to South Africa ?

I've changed the design of the brake light kits slightly, both the lenses light up when the brake is pressed (had a few people prefer it that way) so now that's how they are.

just like me you've no idea how to use a camera

Seriously though ..the lights look like teh ghey in those pics due to the colour. I bet they looks heaps better IRL.

haha are you mocking my phone camera? :)

Does anyone know how many different types of LEDs are there for an R34?

well there is a few

u have

standard

gtr

nismo

east bear

nagissa auto

sunline racing japan

then all of the above in copies as well haha.

thats just off the top of my head but there are way more others as well.

Looking good! Much better than having the single hotplate light up when braking, both of them together really says STOP!!!! haha

Also nice to have proper RED lights, not "orange" I used to get lots of comments at night, they look great in the dark.

Also good to have the boot brake light up evenly, not just the glow of the bulb in the middle with dimmer edges.

Glad you're happy with the kit!

any more pics of the sunline kit and is that modified factory lenses or aftermarket complete ?

Also .. what's that rear bar? Luv it :P looks like a GTR ztune rear bar or possibly Impul - hard to tell from the angle. Is that a GTR wing ? I'm kinda liking the Nissan badge removed too ... hm something to do when I'm bored I guess (was it hard to remove it ?)

Hi Sunline can do either.

make them on premisis, or ship a full set of replacements

Rear bar? not too sure what your talking about.

if you mean the rear spoiler, its a GT-R spoiler (obviously the car is a GTR) but on top secret wing mounts.

It has a genuine Nismo dry carbon blade on the spoiler to replace the original.

rear boot (trunk) tail light (brake) was removed when it went in for the seam welding & repaint at Top Secret's bodyshop in Chiba

(same with the boot badges)

but il replace those when the car gets to the UK

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
