Thanks everyone on the cruise for making it a great day out & for being so welcoming. Thanks again Darren for doing the organising.

It was nice enough weather and some great roads were chosen for the cruise.

The sound of all the cars accelerating away from, well pretty much everywhere possible, was awesome.

If a few more M35 owners could make it next time then the couple of us who turned up wouldn't be so outnumbered :(

Cheers, Leon.

Hope it was a good day for some of you. My day ended up costing me $200 & three points.

Bugger! That's bad luck. I don't think anyone else got a ticket. Well not getting to Bribie at least. Who knows about the way home...

Sorry I did not get there. My Stag is going great, but then it gets its knickers in a knot and is honestly not safe to drive. It is so frustrating.

If our latest tweaks dont work, it is off to Brissie for a big work over and fix.

Awesome cruise everyone, I was a passenger in a mates Stagea taking video of the day.

Got some good shots in but I would like more, so I need your help. The reason is I'm going to make a short film of the day, maybe about 5mins long depending on how much feedback there is. So if there was anyone that was taking pictures or video could you please PM me and I'll give you my email and you can send them through. ATM Ive got about 6mins of video from my camera and im hoping to blend them in with some photos. Wont be anything to fancy as I'll be using Windows Live Movie Maker...

SO please send them thru...

Hi Keir.

Yeah, it was a great day. I was looking forward to seeing you there with your M35 but you can't do much about a faulty starter motor. So next time then.....

Hi Matt, my son took some pics & video on my phone but you'd be better off seeing who else can contribute 'cause the quality won't be up to the standard you would want. However, if you really get stuck for content, let me know & I'll send what I've got.

Cheers, Leon.

Can't seem to embed videos from youtube, maybe someone else could do it? Anyways heres a sample....

Hey Leon, your pictures and videos would be much appreciated. Cheers...

A big thanks to Darrin for a well organised event! It was a great drive, and the surf club was very good (Chicken parmy FTW!)... Spent close to 2 hours at Carindale on the way back when GreenGhost(Myles)'s trans cooler line got severed, and we had no tools (!!), so had to do the whole roadside-mechanic-bunnings-run-for-sockets,-pliers,-cutters-etc-thing.... All fixed in the end, but it had its moments, and my car is still covered in his ATF... :)

As far as the Bribie Island end of the main cruise was concerned:

12(?) Stageas+3 empty lanes+2 red lights+1 mindset+2 synchronised launches = Simply awesome.

Thanks to all for a great day!

It would have been like watching the 3 stooge's on the side of the road fixing Myles (drives like a girl and gets lost) car.

Those couple of launches at the lights is pretty much the end to my clutch

My car still smells like a burnt mexican burrito inside.

Don't post vid's of any crazy Bribie Island retired volvo drivers

Stagea drivers promote safe driving :rofl2:

Good day out, shame so many had to miss it.

Who votes a return trip over the mountain from the other side??

I'll be up for that, turned out one of the intercooler pipes has collapsed? I have no F@#kn idea how this can happen while driving but 3hrs on the side of the highway in pouring rain and I was ready to torch the thing grrrrrr fixed now :action-smiley-069:

I'd be up for that, may even bring the taxi up as well!

Big thanks to Darrin & great to meet you all!

Would it be ok to use these pictures in my video of the cruise?

Yeh man...All good... As long as I get my name in the credits  Hehehe

Only thing would be as long as everyone else is happy to have their number plates in the pics.

Maybe just blur the plates.

Hey It's Jacob, (commsmans son) I went on the cruise and enjoyed it (i didn't doubt that i would) and was wondering if the guys that went could give me the specs of there stags and what mods they have done to them.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
