Your problem is called "missfiring". If you do a search on these forums (or even on Google) you will get a better understanding of what it is and how to solve it.

It could be as simple as needing new/lower gap spark plugs or replacement coilpacks.

It is also luck of the draw if you have std ECU as sometimes putting up boost will result in a loss of power, which happened with mine. Yes this was proven to me on a Dyno, and you may not end up a clean power curve especially in higher RPM's (R&R).

If it is perfectly fine at 7psi then it's not a misfire, I very much doubt it anyway. You're hitting R&R - some ECUs don't like more than factory boost. Only way around this is to get an aftermarket or piggyback ECU and tune the car for the higher boost. Do some supporting mods for it too.

Nah it will be missfiring if he is saying its coughing and spluttering, mine was the same when it was stock. Was fine on stock boost, as soon as we put it up to 10psi it kept missing and had to go to .8 plugs with the factory coil packs which were dying.

phil is right. it will be a missfire caused by a weak spark. once you wind the boost up the spark can't ignite the fuel due to it being weak. start by pulling out the plugs and checking the gap on them. if it is 1.1mm then gap them down to 0.8mm (or put a new set of copper plugs in pre-gapped at 0.8mm) and see if that fixes the problem. if it makes it better but doesn't fix the problem then you will need a new set of coils.

That's fine, but yea try what mad082, PM-R33 and lachlanw said to try. After all they probably have wayyyyyyyy more knowledge/experience than me. BTW search function is pretty handy as most topics have already been covered.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
