RedFox: The next generation Commodore is supposed to sport a quadcam 3.8L V6, with some form of forced induction tipped... especially in light of the success of the XR6T....

Personally, I think the XR6T is awesome and could lead to good things :D

barrp! snap.. barrrrp! snap.. BANG!

XR6T going down the strip, snapping second and third... then leaving the contents of the gearbox on the road.

love the motor, hate the gearbox.

Have a mate who works in Ford R&D he claims it is the most unsuccessful car for ford Aust ever in terms of recalls and failures with respect to the gearbox uh oh :D

Ronin, why bother with that POS manual in the XR6T when you could bathe glory of the four-speed auto? It is handling some big power from tuner cars in standard trim.

Ford's stripping weight out of the 6T for Series II and will unleash a 280+kW 6spd FPV version soon. Second "Golden Era" of Aussie muscle.

Holden's new 3.5L quad-cam, all-alloy 4V-per cyl motor is rumoured to have a turbo hanging off each bank of cylinders as well. Not huge power, but massive amounts of torque. They're also gearing up for the new 6.0L Gen IV V8

all hopes were pinned on cars such as the magnificent Lamborgini, Porsches, BMWs etc to post some of the fastest speeds ever seen from production cars.

I dunno about rules/claims for this... but the XR6t that was tested was no-longer a production car in my eyes.

Unless the Lambo/Porches etc were all modified too (which im doubtful of)

The Vic XR6t's that are running 11's have had money spent on thier Auto's.

The Nizpro one has had such, 100%, it was in a article they participated in and said it needs mod's to the trans that they can provide to make it last

Aus can now start to lay claim to building some of the best/quickest saloon cars in the world.

You can sling mud and say they ar heavy, but what do BMW, Jags, Mercedes and Audi weigh, the local product is doing rather well in my eyes.

That said i cant justify the spend for modern cars, ill wait until i get a company car before i worry about what the manufacturers are offering... but an F6 Typhoon sounds the goods

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
