Jay - Love those slow shutter shots! Something about them i really like. I've always wanted to do one in Sydney's CBD at peak hour but have one person stand still and everyone walk around her waiting at the traffic lights.

cheers man, tried a different angle today and was running at either 1/8th or 1/15th i think, they will be on my facebook soon(ish). kinda needing a tripod tho, lol. that idea about the one person standing still is awesome! might give something like that a go in future, and i'll be sure to credit you for the idea ;) ooh, ooh... maybe even a homeless man asleep in a park with heaps of people just walking past. damn, you got my mind ticking over on this one, nice one lol.

Hahahaha. Theres so many ideas i would love to try out, but just dont have the time. Would be awesome for project 365 as well! (for you too)! The homeless man idea is sick!! I'm sure if you went up to him and said sit still for 5 seconds and i'll give you $5 he would do it!

BNR - Is that a proper full size F1 car? I thought they were so much bigger!!!!!! So jealous of you even getting to hear one in real life! Yet you get to see it driving around on your main roads! That thing at full song would make white stuff appear on the lens.

Yeah, it's the 2009 chassis with current aero and a v10 engine. The sound is insane, though having it revved out 2 meters from Your eat is actualy quiet painful

Photographed a pre-wedding event last night (Haldi). Probably one of the hardest places to shoot. It was in the backyard with the lowest ceiling (which was orange) ever.. I could touch it with my hands. So bouncing flash was a little hard, but I had fun bouncing flash off different things. Also I was shooting 2 hours straight and went thru 12 AA batteries on my flash!!! Not a dull moment through-out the night...

Your probably asking why is there yellow stuff on her face? Well the event is called Haldi: This event normally takes place a day before the wedding. The ceremony is considered auspicious and is meant to purify both bride and groom before the big day. Because of the medicinal properties, its like a mini-facial/body scrub the day before the wedding. Its actually fun to watch!!

Just two pictures from last night for now: Wedding day is today!! so excited about that one.

Sweet colors Sidd! Definitely pops.

I wonder why your powering through batteries so much!? Even at full power for 2 hrs should be one set max! Must be taking heaps of shots. I'm sure there is tonnes and tonnes of awesome moments during indian weddings though.

I always picture elephants when i think about indian weddings i dont know why lol..

LOL! You guys are so racist :D

There seems to be a lot of Indian weddings in Sydney though!

Serg, thats awesome man. I'd love to go watch him thrash it around Barbz, but at $50 entry... Its a bit out of my price range :( Stupid apprentiship wages :/

holy crap that shirt the dude is wearing on the left is awesome :)

hope there'll be good photos from today up soon HINT HINT

Dude on the left is Daniel Ricciardo, a Perth boy that has now been signed by Toro Rosso as their reserve driver for next year so he will be driving every friday practice for them.

F1 goodness is FTW!!!!!

Chase - Quality shouldn't be affected at all by going from full res to low res (web size). As long as you re-sharpen everytime you resize you'll be fine and it will be of even better quality than full res because it will appear sharper.

23MB files sound like you've got around 15MP. So when you resize down to web size, re-sharpen it (not the full amount you use for full res, half it e.g. 40% for full res, use 20% for web size). If the quality is still compressed and artifacting, then your not resizing to the proper size and your image hoster is compressing it down for you.

Sweet pics! As always black is hard to shoot with especially on a sunny day with lots of reflections. I think you did pretty well :rofl2:

    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
    • Hi, i’m converted my r34 4dr auto to manual but need help with gearbox wiring. There are bunch of wires no idea which one for speedo drive, neutral, reverse can anyone help me. IMG_6860.mov
