haha.. tell me about it!.. why you think every day i look at my car i'm just thinking of giving up the ghost and going straight for the big stuff.

R32 GTR are pretty much the same price. Even under SEVS i could get a nice 92 or so R32 GTR for around $22k, probably what mine would be worth. Thats of course if you like the R32.. many don't

No plates for 32 gtr's under sevs yet that im aware of...

I think the 32's look tough...

Its a skyline thing to have GTR thoughts every month or two, lol

definitely :D my thoughts have been continuing to the one point for several months now. As long as I can get $22k for my R33 its a done deal.

yeah, i'm becoming a bit more of a fan of the R32 GTR. Not so many around (up here), can look neato, and go hard of course. The only concern would be the mechanicals at that age.

True that...

What do you think id get for my car once its all painted???

yer.. plates for the R32 GTR are a while off.. but they will come.

Soon there will be no option anyhow once the 15 year bites it .. i predict about 3 months. Although somebody said "no big changes are done in an election year" which could be true.

If so i have a few months to keep thinking.

hmm.. no idea! What mods do you have again?

Mine i'm *hoping* because of the mods, and in the end the full kit about $22k. The paintjob though is starting to get a bit rougher...and the km will turn off some i think.

i can of course fix that for $300 or so :D

Yeah, 15 year rule is goooonnnneeeeee

I dunno, I was thinking of leasing a 33 gtr a few days back... bank said it was fine, until they found out it was more than 6 years old...

i'm getting to the point where i'm just thinking **** it, if idiots are going to be obsessed by km, when mine has done 100,000km or so and is probably *fairly* close to that.. and some that says "60,000km" but there is no way in hell its done that little.. i might be paying a visit to the wreckers for a certain part.

LMFAO!! You rebel!!

Id be happy with $20k for my car....

banks are shit aren't they :D only want you to get new stuff so they can repossess or sell it if the time comes.

In my old job, they probably would have given me enough for a $70,000 R34 GTR, as it was under the 5 years or whatever, yet i had to get a personal loan for the R33 as it was "too old" to be eligible as a car loan :D

yeah i'd reckon $20k for yours would be fair.. hard to tell of course. When you look at a car looking a bit hacked (yours with the unpainted from bar.. or mine with the multicolouredness) people always go "erk, what a load of crap".. but soon as its painted its a whole different car.

When i went from old split, undercoated patches, half sanded back GTR bar, and dented panel to *bling* again my whole perception, and others of my car changed. So hope that is the case when fixed.

Yeap...

Its kinda lame...

I was going to lease a 34gtr through my old company at the end of last year... was still going to cost 15k a year in payments so i thought better of that... lol

Yeah its so true... perception is reality...

Once both are painted the will be very very nice looking...

Hey MJ :wavey:

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
