will get a clean up and be put back in storage to be honest I am over it and have other far more important things to worry about to be honest.

I am unsure if getting it back was the best move but I have made my decision and I would like to think I could still get out of it relatively easily, but that is not really why I brought it back.

Still in the process of seeking legal advice, I am not sure what it will cost me and to be honest this is a minor consideration right now.............................

Cheers Alex

Couldnt have asked for a better outcome Alex for what started out so glum. I can understand you being over it at the moment with all the stress and anxiety it has caused....I rekcon in 10 years time you will be happy you bought it back though.

^ZILLR Im keen to see auction if you can be stuffed putting it up

we should start sharing more detailed pics of our ADM's on this thread!

I actually purchased a ticket then had to sell it due to other commitments (house was half open due to reno's)

I wanted to get my glove box signed by jim Richards as I was going to remove this.

I had my motorcycle fairing and leathers signed by the likes of Wayne rainey, shaun Giles and the like

The Ex-Kerry Packer Silver car is up for sale again (55,000kms with full service history). Looks like good buying at $39,500 asking price, although does have some modifications.

Does anybody know any more history on this car?

QLD Reg: Norty1

Build No. 015994 (No.12 of 100)

Build Date: May 31st, 1991 Complied

Paint/Trim: KJ1/G Jet Silver Metallic

Owner's Description.

One for the motoring enthusiast / collector. purchased new by Kerry Packer (Consolidated Press) this is a original nissan austalia GTR.If you are looking at this you will know the original purchase price and how many were complied here. it comes with full log books and manuals/keys and excellent motoring history. this vehicle was also driven and maintained and modified by the motoring great himself Kevin Bartlett. for those who are not aware Kevin spent alot of time helping nissan compliance the cars. This GTR however goes one step further being modified from new by Kevin for Kerry having the larger discs fitted, wheels to clear the larger discs, computer remapped, custom exhaust and more. The car presents as an original with log booked klms. Servicing was mainly performed by Kevin and his team and this is reflected in the service manuals.

Further history of the car extends to the second owner who was Nick Ross (Kerrys helicopter pilot)and for those who dont know he was the person who gave Kerry a liver.

Nick had entended to do motorsport Rallies so a complied roll cage was fitted, although the roll cage has been removed and trims returned to standard as these events were never fullfilled it will accompany the sale of the vehicle and the QLD modification plate still remains. Now the car remains in storage with very little use only to keep things turning every couple of weeks.Due to expansion of business i am no longer able to store the car so it is now offered for sale or trade. The vehicle is currently Qld registered and the plates are not included in the sale. As mentioned i will accept trades with cash differnce either way.

Looks like it has sold or withdrawn from sale.......

Bob.

More than likely sold at that price. Although, it was on the market for a few months as well which was surprising.

For me, the rollcage would be the deal breaker

The rollcage, penetrations through the body, the condition of the under carriage, stone damage to various panels, etc, they were some of the deal breakers for me.

That car was regularly driven on dirt roads by Mr. Packer when travelling to/from his country property. It had also done a targa Tasmania (one of two Packer cars that went to Targa) and some track work. Kevin Bartlett confirmed all this when I contacted him.

I looked into it at the time but it wasn't what I was after. I'm sure it is what suited somebody else however.

Being on the market for 6+ months doesn't surprise me at all.

my adm has a few bolt on mods, will there be a category for this as it appears your category is for standard adms only?

I could bring mine back to stock but its too much effort :)

It all depends on the day,

If we get enough Modified Aus cars then there will be a category for them, If there is only 3 Aus cars then they will have to be all in the same Category

    • Had I known the diff between R32 and R33 suspension I would have R33 suspension. That ship has sailed so I'm doing my best to replicate a drop spindle without spending $4k on a Billet one.
    • OEM suspension starts to bind as soon as the car gets away from stock height. I locked in the caster and camber before cutting off the kingpin. I then let the upright down in a natural (unbound) state before re-attaching it. Now it moves freely in bump and droop relative to the new ride height. My plan is to add GKTech arms before the car is finished so I can dial camber and caster further. It will be fine. This isn't rocket science. Caster looks good, camber is good, upper arm doesn't cause crazy gain and it is now closer to the stock angle and bump steer checks out. Send it.
    • Pay careful attention to the kinematics of that upper arm. The bloody things don't work properly even on a normal stock height R32. Nissan really screwed the pooch on that one. The fixes have included changing the hole locations on the bracket to change the angle of the inner pivot (which was fairly successful but usually makes it impossible to install or remove the arm without unbolting the bracket from the tower, which sucks) and various swivelling upper arm designs. ALL the swivelling upper arm designs that look like a capital I (with serifs) suck. All of them. Some of them are in fact terribly unsafe. Even the best one of them (the old UAS design) shat itself in short order on my car. The only upper arm that works as advertised and is pretty safe is the GKTech one. But it is high maintenance on a street car. I'm guessing that a 600HP car as (stupidly, IMO) low as you are going is not going to be a regular driver. So the maintenance issues on suspension parts are probably not going to be a problem. But you really must make sure that however your fairly drastically modded suspension ends up, that the upper arms swing through an arc that wants to keep the inner and outer bolts parallel. If the outer end travels through an arc that makes that end's bolt want to skew away from parallel with the inner bolt, you will build up enormous binding and compressing forces in the bushes, chew them out and hate life. The suspension compliance can actually be dominated by the bush binding, not the spring rate! It may be the case that even something like the GKTech arm won't work if your suspension kinematics become too weird, courtesy of all the cut and shut going on. Although you at least say there's no binding now, so maybe you're OK. Seeing as you're in the build phase, you could consider using R33/4 type upper arms (either that actual arm, OEM or aftermarket) or any similar wishbone designed to suit your available space, so alleviate the silliness of the R32 design. Then you can locate your inner pivots to provide the correct kinematics (camber gain on compression, etc).
    • The frontend wouldn't go low enough because the coilover was max low and the upper control arm would collapse into itself and potentially bottom out in the strut tower. I made a brace and cut off the kingpin and then moved the upright down 1.25" and welded. i still have to finish but this gives an idea. Now I can have a normal 3.25" of shock travel and things aren't binding. I'm also dropping the lower arm and tie rod 1.25".
    • Motor and body mockup. Wheel fitment and ride height not set. Last pic shows front ride height after modifying the front uprights to make a 1.25" drop spindle.
