Im thinking of buying an 04 V350 GT 4dr, as im a married man it meets with the wifes approval....but is it really a Skyline?

I would really like to get an opinion on what MODS are available and any info on the car.

Thanks i look forward to others opinions as im just not 100% yet on buying it.

They are bloody awesome cars and half the price of competitor cars with the same level of performance/reliability/luxury. Drive one and you will know whether you want one or not.

Every mod you can think of out of the USA and they are CHEAP .... only the postage is a bit exxy, but still works out pretty cheap. Obviously being non-turbo there is a limit to how much power you can draw out of them without going FI, but the power is pretty good standard imho.

not too bad needs matching tint front and rear the door water repel things off

you've had yours on the dyno Andrew surely for shits and giggles

what did it make

lol..yep first thing to go those ugly things on the door frame....i compared the R34 stock..and damm it kicked ass hence why im thinking about it.

She made 148.6rwkw at Extreme Horsepower on a Mainline dyno (so 160rwkw on a DynoDynamics). A stock R34 should make about 130-140rwkw. My stock ADM S15 only made 114rwkw!

a mate of mine from perth put a supercharger kit on his a couple years back, he said it was a monster, from memory it pulled just shy of 300 rwkw and enough tourque to reverse the rotation of the earth

great car, thats what im probably looking at next, either one of this of a stagea. is that the one from sinergy?? id look elsewhere apart from them though

Yepp Sinergy... and your not the first person to mention i should look elsewere.

That does worry me  .

^^ that look elsewhere comment to my knowledge is based purely on price

but you always pay more from a car yard

i know Rocco and the other Dude whos name slips me at the moment will give exceptional service, as i have had work done by them and would return

hmmm.. understandable caryard is out to make a buck.

Nightcrawler has very valid reason for concern.

Due to the fact that Rob + Rocco are a family friends of sorts they were recomended to me, it all looks ok so far.

+ I got a good discount  .

God knows ive had enough car trouble already this year!

Again, i have had the car indepently looked at to cover my behind...but if anyting untowards happens i will be posting straight away.

Cheers

no it's a Infinity not a Skyline. but still a fantastic car for the money, High end Nissan similar to lexus

plus a huge amount of support from USA aftermarket parts

but we still love ya andrew...lol

^^^ lol incorrect Troy - G35s were made in America, but V35 Skylines were made in Japan. Same car but different car if you get what I mean :)

+1 to that....the entire dash is in Japanese  anyone have G35 books i can use to translate?

But then again can anyone read American?

    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
    • Hmm not really, I'd say its race car life or modified car life when you make 3 or 4 times the power Nissan designed the car for lol.
    • I'll let others with more breakage chime in, but I can't think of anyone who had a problem with the standard centre plate before they had a problem with the standard gears - the plate generally just gets replaced for safety when the gearset is upgraded. As for the gearsets, its not like they are OK at 600Nm and break at 601. Their longevity is a combination of how much torque you are making and how gentle you are on shifts (or not).
